Why Early Bronco? Why not Classic Bronco or Vintage Bronco?

What the hell do you call it?

Ive always just assumed its been Early Bronco, because most of the vendors, web searches, and web sites point that way, the DMV classes vintage or classic as a 20 to 25 year old vehicle, 30+ for antique....

I think it was started by the Early Bronco Registry, the self-proclaimed first early bronco club in the country.

Actually they are the the self proclaimed first early bronco "ASSOCIATION" in the country. But no matter what they call themselves they are worthless to just about anyone out of California. It could really be turned into worth while national club or whatever if a little effort was put into sterring it that way.

C'mon sachem, you can't just say something like that without explaining yourself and your reasons. We're listening!

Before they started the EBR, the local San Diego club (which still exists) was Early Broncos Limited. My first memory of them was '81 or '82 - not sure how much earlier than that they existed. There were other Bronco clubs before them, but they're the first I've ever heard using the term "early Bronco".

All right, I admit it. I call them Early Broncos too. Although the name Classic Broncos is growing on me for some reason! ;D

Hmmmm?

And what exactly have *YOU* done to facilitate any of this nationalization that you mention? %)

It won't be long before all broncos are clasic broncos. Of the Bronco line the 66-77 is the Early Model so Early Bronco is fitting. Original Bronco is not bad though.

I gotta say EB. The simple fact that no other Bronco can go by "Early" is distinguishing, as so many others have said. In Colorado, you get "collector" tags for anything that is 25 years or older, so I definatly wouldn't call it a collector because here it could refer to some heep (heep, not J**p) of garbage that someone doesn't want to emission. When I go to the parts store, sometimes those folks think I am referring to the B2, but then I say, no, the Original, kind of like Coke, the original formula was the best, just like Broncos.

Absolutely nothing... But I don't claim to be a voice of the Early Bronco community while doing next nothing and facilitating next to nothing for those outside of California. Look at nloc.net, the club for Ford Lightning owners. There are regional clubs within the national. This is what could be done for us with little trouble.

When I joined the EBR I was told I would get contact information for local bronco owners. It wasn't mentioned that I'd have to pay extra for such priviledged information. At that time all the newsletter contained was a rehash of EBML stories and info. All I really got was a sticker.....%)

I'm glad they are around, I'm glad that they made it the east coast get together but paying for membership is a waste of money if you don't live in California!!! EBR does good for those in the west but as far as I'm concerned they either need to step up and become a true national club or get out of the way and let someone else do it.

Truthfully, Classicbroncos.com is the closest thing to a national club we have.

If you don't understand that then well...... I don't care... It's my opinion....:-X

I don't really want to hijack this thread anymore than I've already done. This topic is just like the glovebox and title for sale thread. It's gonna go nowhere because minds are already decided. I've stated my opinion. If you want to continue it thats fine but do so without me. I propose we end it before it really gets going.

I agree with not hijacking this thread. If you guys want to let it drop that's fine. If anyone else posts about it here in this thread I'll just separate out the related posts into a new thread so it can continue there.

Didn't mean to get anyone's panties in a twist. My point was only that the EBR (or EBL as TZ mentioned) may have been the ones to come up with "early" in Early Bronco.
