... After my 4BT swap my brake pedal has been way to high .. I have to lift my foot until my knee hit the steering wheel ..So I felt like that might be dangerous if I were to being town. After checking it out the brake rod had been cut into and welded back together making it longer.. I don't remember if I did this or that yeawho That I had start it. So no problem I could just cut it down or go to Bronco row and pull something off a donor ride!! So I did. Get back to the shop it only about 1/2 inch shorter than my rod .. My pedal is 2 full inches higher than my clutch ..So my brilliant deduction in that the rod needs to be about 2 inches shorter ..Right.. So I get out my Sawzall and lope it off .. crawl under the dash put on the 2 halves in place ....DAMN IT.......
....If I hadn't sawed it into it would have been perfect ..The angle of the dangle made it to where 1/2 inch equaled 2 after it was added to the pivot angle .. So I got out the welder and welded it all back together and ground
off my scabs ..
.....Cooled it and installed it man that is nicer not having to lift the legs so much..And it's long enough that the rod won't pull out of the M/C.
.......
..Why did my daddy tell me to measure twice and cut once!!!

I thought it was "cut twice then go look for a tape measure".

Here's what works best for me. Measure, sketch it out on piece of paper. Measure again. See if I wrote down the right measurement. Set part on bench on top of sketch. Come back next day and measure again. Check sketch from previous day and see if it's the same. Take deep breath and cut hoping I didn't forget something. ;D ;)

Thats kind of what I do, but it sits on the workbench for a couple days to a couple of weeks, just long enough to not be fresh & then I cut.
