I'm installing these today - has anyone else? I'm curious if the top edge of the rockski is supposed to be flush with the lower edge of the door jamb. I can only get it to within about 1/2". The skis I removed (lightweight Al diamond plate) were flush with the door jamb.

Thanks,

-aaron

The thicker sliders from some manufacturers may not be exactly true. This leads to gaps in the top or bottom of the sliders when mounted to the rocker panels.

Other problems are that stock rocker panels are curved and may not true either. Try bolting the sliders to the body as close as you can, then use silicone sealer to fill the gaps. Two reasons for this:

1. fills the voids
2. seals out the chance of corrosion or rust to form between the two metals

The BC/ WH rockskis do stop a little below the edge of the door jamb. I pressem on with a tranny jack. You can use a floor jack and wood to press it on.

You can also get them a little higher by rolling up the seem under the bronco that skis go over.

I had the same prob with mine at first. If you do it like the instructions say you can get it within 1/8 of an inch

I designed them to end up a little below the door jam. Because if they were any too tall you couldn't get the door open and if you drop onto a rock they will go up to the limit. My thought was a little low was a lot better than a little high.

Always the thinker ---- Good idea Chuck--

I found that nothing usually fits perfect from Bronco to Bronco

I called WH right after I started this thread, and they told me 1/2" away from the jamb was not unusual. So I marked & cut them based on that position.
