Will 5.0 HO EFI Intake be alright on Non-HO Engine

Need a little help. We are installing a EFI engine out of an 89 Grand Marquis into my sons bronco. I have done a lot of research but am at a little snag.

The upper and lower intake on ours had a center bolt that had cracked. I went out to the junkyard and grabbed the entire upper of a Cadi Mark V with the HO engine. From what I have read they are interchangable. I know it will bolt right up, but the actual size oth the intake into the upper intake is much larger. With this mess up anything with the computer, or will it just compensate for the difference?

I am talking about the diameter through the throttle area in the upper. The lower seems identicle to the non HO engine.

Thanks for any help.

It'll be fine. Bigger throttle body will help power.

I was told that my 5.0L in my '88 Bronco was a dog, and just changing the intake wasnt going to help. Dont know that it will hurt. But I think it was more to do with the heads. You can get your computer flashed so if the swap does work, you might be able to get a better tune.

As far as I know the only difference between a non HO and an HO is the eec, and the throttle body size/injector size. I believe the camshaft is even the same.

Not sure on the performance specs between the two camshafts but, the HO motors use the 351w firing order and the non-HO motors use the 302 firing order. Actually come to think of it, it is well documented that the explorer cam shafts are geared for more low end torque and do not rev well past 3K RPM's. I am thinking but there are probably three different cam shaft specs, one for the sedan, one for the mustang, and one for the explorer but I can't prove it.

Lots of cams. This doesn't include the explorer/truck cam.
