Windshield Frame Mounting ???

My EB is at my F-N-L's shop waiting for a new bedpan and windshield frame mounting.

I need a diagram of a proper windshield frame mounting to send him - i.e. correct seal orientation, correct hinge orientation, how to handle the bolt clearance, etc.

Thanks!

I'm attaching a stainless hinge to both the upper cowl and the windshield frame using stainless pop-rivets. So long as you end up with only 1 pop-rivet of thickness between the hinge, it will work fine. (i.e. don't have the pop-rivets on the windshield side line up directly with those on the cowl side, stagger the placement.)

The hinge should be set up with the hinge edge towards the hood so that the windshield can fold down. (If you can find an early hood with the windshield pin still on, that makes it functional.)

I don't have a top, so I can't be of any help on the seals.

Thanks for the rivet idea.

By seal I meant the gasket for the hinge.

Try this link. http://www.westcoastbroncos.com/images/1640seals.jpg

This one has a list of other schematics. http://www.westcoastbroncos.com/wcbpage10a.htm

I am not sure if there is a seal that goes underneath the hinge where it mounts to the body but I know there is one that goes between the hinge itself. Hinge does go forward so windshield can fold onto hood and there is a seal that goes in the middle of the hinge prior to folding it up.

Also try this link. http://www.broncoparts.com/ From there click on Auto Krafters and download their catalouge. There are alot of pics in there that I have used.

Hope this helps.
