Has anybody had to replace the bottom of the windshield frame where the hinge is spot welded to. Mines a 68 and there's some pretty bad rust, just wanted to know some ideas about replacing that section.

Thanks in advance

I replaced a windshield once due to a rollover. It had a TON of spot welds. I just drilled them all out, one at a time. I would just replace the whole windshield frame with a rust free one. I hope your channel is OK.

You can replace it with some tubing, adding a small angle on the top for the gasket to latch onto, but otherwise, it's a formed assembly.

The channel was rotted in about a 8" section. Found a piece of angle that matched and welded it in I still need to to clean it up abit and probably POR15 that whole thing. It is on my long list of things to do. Driverside floor pan on next days off.

Thanks
Stinky ;D
