Just a curiosity question for the wise ones, wizards and Poobahs. How many years did the Bronco come with the hood and windshield latches? I would think a solid windshield like that would be quite a pricey, desirable item. Howard in beautiful west Michigan

The vacuum wipers were 66-68 and then electric for 69 and newer. Seems like some early 69’s with electric wipers still came with the hood with the holes and the catch, maybe until the factory used them up.

The suppliers sell a repro version for the windshield latch and hood catch.

66-mid '69 production (Dec 68 was the switch as far as I can tell).

My 68 Bronco had the windshield latch, removable door/window frames and vacuum wipers. I'm guessing all these went away at the same time?

No, the removable window frames went away at the end of the '68 model year while the latch and vacuum wipers continued for about 4-5 months. My '69 (9/4/68 build) had fixed window frames, vacuum wipers and the windshield latch.

How does the pin in the windshield work?

I have an early 69 with the windshield part and hood part but never had the pin.

I need the hood part and just the screw or bolt for windshield I have the knob and spring.. So both I guess.

What "bolt" for the windshield are you referring to? There is a spring loaded pin with knob that's held to the windshield with a spot welded on bracket.

The pin that the spring and Knob go on. Ill get it out tonight and take pics of it, but it looks like a 3"long 1/4" bolt or pan head screw that has 1/2"of threads on it. It is a rounded head slot style(flat blade)screw head that slides into a barrel then the spring and then screws into the knob. Mine broke at the knob when trying to take it apart. You can see it in Yakelys link except for the screw head.
