Wiring my Smittybilt Winch

I think I over thought this one. I just tied it into the bolt for each cable. Now, since I'm electrically challenged...will this thing draw amperage while simply being hooked up? I'm running an Interstate battery and it has always been strong for me. Just don't want to kill this battery.
