...... the pictures in some threads are replaced with Xs in small boxes. Inquiring minds in beautiful west Michigan want to know. Thanks. Howard

Probably if you look they have no contribute status.

It shouldn't be this. If you upload photos as a Contributor they don't ever go away, even if your Contributor status expires.

Or if it's hosted on an outside source, and they delete the photo or their account, or maximize their bandwidth usage, the photo won't show here.
It's this. The 'X' means the image is invalid, usually because it got deleted or the web site it was hosted on no longer exists. In some cases it could be an issue with your computer (web browser) so if you're seeing a ton of them check to see if everyone else is seeing the same thing. Do you have a link to an example thread where you're seeing this?

But if you see only a couple here and there, then it's most likely a problem with the image, not something you have any control over.

Had always wondered about that myself and blamed it on computer mostly
