I only meant to do some wiring, redo fuel and brake lines and the only thing left original on the tub is the bed up to the front seats and the rear sides. Have ALL new sheet metal from the A-pillars forward and both floor pans and both rockers. Every piece taken off revealed more rot to replace/repair. It’s almost a frame off.
And it’s on jack stands. 🤣

That's what I've been afraid of with mine, also what did happen to me with my 79. I've been considering a new reproduction body for my 71 but the costs with that are crazy.

The only way to avoid the continued removal of parts??? Just don’t take the first piece off.

It has been said that hindsight is 20:20 vision, but knowing then what I now know I would have pulled the tub off of the frame to begin with. Not sure I’d buy a new tub as I’m too cheap for that option. I’m retired, so I’ve got the time.

All I have left to remove is the two floor pans and they aren’t that bad, then it’s clean and start going back with new metal. Late nights, but fun nights. I got close to taking the spot weld cutter to my temple a couple times, but that is my relax and enjoy time, I’m loving it!
