Hopefully this will be my last question about this nightmare of a project. I rebuilt my box finally and it seems to be ok so far. I needed a new p/s pump but the only one i could get didnt have a resivour or pulley. In the process of trying to get the old pulley off to swap over i bent the pulley all to hell. So ive got another 50 dollar pulley in the mail. I cant afford to keep buying part after part so my question is whats the best way to put this pulley on? Its a stock bronco pump and i know its a press fit, any pointers before i screw this up again? I just want to drive my truck again haha

Thanks

when you buy a rebuilt it comes with a threaded bolt and nut that threads in the center of the pump shaft, so you position the pulley and screw the bolt into the shaft then turn the nut down to push the pulley on. the pumps are available at checker or autozone, there the same as the older mustangs and plenty of other fords. in fact when you buy a rebuilt they will take your old pulley off for you and you get the bolt and nut in with the new rebuilt pump.

Hmm, I got mine from O'reillys and all I got with it was an O-ring. Auto Zone and advance couldnt even order one for me.

Harbor Freight Pully install/removal tool, works great, and cheap. most auto part stores have the loaner tool program, you pay a deposit, which is about what the tool retails for so if you dont bring it back you own it. them when you do bring it back its all refunded.
