I ordered parts for my dana 44 HP disk brake axle. I needed the normal stuff. spindle bearings and seals, some ball joints and spindle bolts and nuts. Some of the bolts were not in great shape so I figured I would replace them. I had received everything I had ordered except the bolts. I did get the nuts. I found that funny because the nut are worthless if there are no bolts. No big deal, I sourced some bolts on E Bay. The nuts came with them, too funny. Well that was 4 1/2 months ago and last Thursday I got an E mail saying my order had shipped. I replied and asked what did I buy? The reply was we finally got the bolts in and we shipped them to you.
I just laughed, did they really think I was still waiting on the bolts??? Sure enough I got the bolts in the mail. At least I have a set of nuts for them.

Everything seems to take longer these days...
After a 42 min wait on hold, with a 20 min wait estimated... Then a week+ to get a call back from Charbroil for gas grill parts... then 15-30 days estimate to get the parts. Call it 6 weeks... Good thing we had back up.

Hey bax, Thursday I needed a wheel cylinder, left rear. Went to the parts house and all they had was the one with the big boss. Went to another parts house, they had nothing. Went back and had first guy order the small boss unit, it got here this morning, I look at the small boss, got mine in my hand, pay the man and charge home. Then it hit me, I compared the 2 and they had a right rear in a left rear box!!! Back to the parts house!!!DUH!!!%)%)

I recently had a package take 37 days to get from Stockton, CA to Brooklyn, NY for an item purchased on ebay. I could have hired Forrest Gump to run it there faster.

CJ pony parts won't answer their phone for weeks. They owe me a couple pieces of tri and I won't be using them again...ever. Not impressed.

I can see waiting on hard to get parts. But thinking a customer would still need bolts after 4 months is kind of silly.
In your case if I was the supplyer, even after 4 months if I got the bearing I would contact you and see if you still needed it before charging your card and sending it.

I'm rebuilding my doors so I ordered new hinges. Vendor said they were backordered. So I ordered from another vendor their hinge pin kits. New hinges from other vendor arrived two days later. Other vendor said hinge pin kits are backordered. I have not received the hinge pin kits yet. Vendor just emailed me to review my new hinge pin kits...

If it's going through Seattle it may be slowed down for inspection in the "autonomous zone".

THE GOOD, Tom's Bronco Parts. I have so far placed two orders with Tom's. They were shipped 100% complete, packed very well, and I received both of them the same week (about 1000 miles away). Their communication was great. They informed me that the windshield frame I ordered was on "back order" and if I choose to place the order it would be three weeks before it shipped. I think I received it in two weeks. They informed me that the Dynacorn door skin would be a "drop ship" item and could take a couple of extra days. I had it within a week after the main order arrived. The quality and fit of all of their stamped sheet metal parts was excellent. The only item I have received that was poor quality was their $15 spot weld cutter, which is exactly the same as a Harbor Freight $5 item. Overall, I'd give them FIVE STARS.

THE BAD, TCP GLOBAL. Trying to save some money on my primer and paint materials I gave them a try for the first time. They do not answer their customer phones, you sit on hold, then get disconnected. I used their Auto Color Library color matched Acrylic Urethane system. It took them 15 days to mix two gallons of Carmel, one quart of Wimbledon white, and one quart of parchment semi-gloss. I received the $850 order with "no hardener". Their website is very misleading. If you order acrylic urethane in their house colors the hardener is included as "a component of the system". But if you order the same acrylic urethane in a color matched paint, the hardener is "not included". Basically, the $260/gallon price becomes $310/gallon if you choose to use a original Ford stock color. I tried, but unless you live in a very remote area, I'd stick with your local paint store for refinish materials that need to be mixed. Amazon has some very good prices if you already know the 3M generic part number for the 3M products.

I will throw my TCP global experience in as well. I ordered a gallon of one color and a quart of another. I filled out car make and model, year, paint code and name. I received the quart about 2 weeks later and it was metallic grey instead of white. I called them and was told I received the correct color? The guy told me they don't go by the make, model or year car? Why did they ask then? The color was never offered on the car I specified. I had to dispute that $200 quart of paint with my credit card. After 30 days I was able to cancel the gallon.
I found the coating store. They have codes for a good number of vintage cars and even cool modern oem colors. I ordered my primers and misc stuff Friday, it was here monday morning. I am ordering color tonight.
I will never use cj pony parts again.

Ordering online means you are only ordering part numbers. The CSR, customer service representatives, probably doesn’t even know what a bolt or nut are or look like these days.

Also, social media has hurt our youth as most don’t get their hands dirty. They only work out their thumbs and not their mind. I’m saying this due to the fact I was trying to explain thread pitch to a customer’s employee the other day who works in their R&D facility. He didn’t understand why he was stripping bolts and pulling the threads out of the parts. Working with stupid is tough these days. Sorry for the rant.
