I will be doing this swap soon using my ZF adapter. This is the info I wrote down. Seal part #471950 (yellow in pic)

Info should probably be confirmed

Jsmall your illustration shows the trans as being a zf? I'm using the 4r70w auto and mid section with the ZF adapter ring.

That pic came from a thread where the guy was doing the same thing. That's the illustration he gave.

So i've been studying a ton. And it seem's this would be the best easiest way to get a great tranny into my wife's '77 Bronco. Just to make sure i'm understanding all of this. I need a 4R70w 4x4 and I can just use the AA ZF adapter to bolt them together? Besides the electronic part. Am i missing anything?

Well, by "easiest and best" I would argue that it's merely the least expensive. But now that the seal issue seems to be resolved and people using it to good effect for some time, I guess "best" might also be high on that list now too.

Easiest might still be to use the adapter specified by the manufacturer for the specific trans. I've never installed either one though, so still can't speak from personal experience.

Correct on the 4wd/AWD version of the trans.
Which controller are you going to use? Factory computer or aftermarket?
