i have a zf5 and Dana 20 with a 2 in body lift. HOw does eveyone do there trans shifter? do the aftermarket twins work fine with the BL? it seems like the shifters for sale have a low mounting point making alot of movement at the floorboard that could be too much for the boot. moving it up would make better for the boot/shifter movement at the floorboard and smaller hole but then throw off the shifter ratio making it harder to shift. could drop the tunnel some to mount the boot lower. anyone got a cable shifter to work?

My J shit shifts like butter even with 2 inches cut off the twins. Even with a 1 inch BL, the twins were super long IMO (I'm a bit of an odd duck....I even shortened my M5R2 shifter). Jon seen my post about wanting to shorten them. He contacted me and said send them back and he would take care of it. I think I have the details in my M5ODR2 thread.

With my later M5R2 the shifter is further back than early ones and I still had to custom bend them just a bit to clear Reverse when front LOW in engaged. That's not a Jon issue......he can't plan for every single possibility although he tries. So many shifter combinations out there for the M5R2. He offered but I said it was something I needed to bend and check and bend and check and so on till I got it the way I wanted.

so the shifter isnt moving too far to max out the hole in the floor that matches the boot plate and the boot isnt stretched too much. worried about ripping this and replacing often.
i had to cut and angle the zf shifter and probably have to lenthen it a bit more for comfortable shifting. so bending the trans shiter feels inevitable.
looks like the stock shifter it about 4:1
