I used a plasma cutter along with an air chisel to remove the old pans and I ground down any leftover spot welds. I put the pans in place and tack welded in a few areas. Then I went back in and put self tapping screws at any place that I wanted a weld. Then I went back and removed one by one and plug welded the hole. I will follow with a seam sealer and then prime and paint and put down a high build bedliner like line x or rhino. Actually I am looking at a product called VORTEX. If I can do it anyone can. There are plenty of other guys that have been way more meticulous than I have and there is great info on this site. Go for it!

I am in the process of replacing the drivers side floor just like what you have here. I am having second thoughts about what to do around the seams? Do I weld the entire floor pan in place? Do I tack it in place and use some kind of sealer (ie. Line-x, POR-15, Hercluliner) This is the first major piece of flooring I am replacing and the only one that actually does need help. I just want to make sure I do it correctly. Any tips?

Thanks for the feedback so far! I want this thing on the road in July. Body color is going to be very similar to what is below with a custom mix , along with Porsche silver on the dash, roll bar, hardtop and door panels.

drivers side door striker

I installed a new drivers side door striker post. Not too hard of a fix with the rockers off except for finding the old spot welds.

Drivers side rocker

Replaced the rocker on the drivers side. Tom's Bronco Parts replacement was top quality! Even the weather striping holes lined up. Inner rocker looked terrible but was repairable. That is some thick metal! Took alot of heat and beat to get it back in place. I would not have had to replace the rocker if the PO had not crushed it wheeling.

Just a teaser!

Well the Bronco got some paint yesterday. Here are some of the pics of yesterdays work. I'll post more of the progress prior to paint but I couldn't resist posting some now. Can't wait to see it in the sun today!

Nice, I have never seen a transition from the grill to the side like that.
Can you post some more pics of the front?

I'll take some more today out in the sun. I still have to paint the windshield frame, door window frames, dash and the top. Lots of work still ahead but for now its a whole lot farther than it has been in the last 8 years.
