I think the 3m ClearBra is the way to go, but you will need to touch up the dash first. It doesn't use a strong adhesive, so no damaging the paint. My brother installs that stuff in his shop outside of Seattle. Great stuff!

Fridge Magnet

Found a fridge magnet/business card.

Cut it to fit.

Works for now, until I find something better.

Thanks!

Haha, I think a fridge magnet is pretty clever, simple and free. Perhaps add a little Bronco sticker on top of the magnet. I like it.

2nd for push button. Adds an additional theft deterrent and you can fab a button to fit in the original ignition bezel. Here's what I bought...

push button start/keyless entry

You know what they say... Once you go keyless, you never go back!

CLK - I am envious, I wish that I was at the stage of my build where I was trying to solve little annoyances like these with free fixes!

a Velcro fuzzy side strip? I like the magnet idea as well. I used a piece os rubber with an adhesive backing...it all works!;D

But seriously, the protector method is the hack way of doing it%). Use a long key instead. In 30 years my keys have never come anywhere near the dash.

I too love the patina of the original dash so no dash protector for me either.

I plan to keep my dash as is even if I do a complete top notch paint job on the rig.

Same here, I thought it was just part of the total EB experience!:p But then again, mine doesn't look like it was just birthed from the Michigan plant like CLK's either:)
