I was flipping channels & a 70 green Cougar Eliminator on "Whats my car worth" caught my attention. The seller said that it got a brass tag because it was a test vehicle. He also said Lease cars came with the brass tag. A quick google search turned up some Mustang guys talking about the brass tags. So my question is does anyone have a Bronco with one? By the way I LOVE the 428 Eliminator!!!!!

I dont think it's super common. And I bet they were intended to be removed after Ford was done with them, especially if they went to public auction. Heard of a few mustangs with them, but only a few.

Located different places best I can tell. I did find this in a search:

Apparently, Ford affixed a brass tag to the radiator support of special order cars bound for company executives. Ed says that Ford also had brass keys for these executive vehicles.

and this:

The brass tag car are ID at bottom of invoice & example 300-L-162 first 3 digits organization the car was assigned to middle letter L -lease T-test had a M license plates -E -executive last 3 digits serial # of that particular vehicle in that organization & had nothing to do with VIN # remember this is an example. the brass tags were on lh A-pillar or lh rocker in front of scuff plate or on rad support with screws or rivets.

I've had a brass taged engine.
Years ago I was working for a guy we doing some carpenter work at this guy's warehouse he was a junk buyer. And over in his stuff was a 200 ford six on a roll around stand, and one thing I noticed was a brass tag riveted on the lower left back corner.
If I remember it said something like "Donated by Ford Motor Company for the continuing of education in the automotive field" FoMoCo was in script.
I bought that motor and put it in a mustang I had it needed a motor badly and payed $125.00, ran like a top.
