Those boxes don't have sector shaft bearings.

So it's just a seal?
I was ready to pull it apart but I figured to wait and see what the bearing looks like before I end up destroying it on removal.

Viperwolf1, do you know of any diagrams of the breakdown of this unit available online or have a pic of it?

There are bushings top and bottom, #3576 in the exploded view in this link if I'm not mistaken.

And apparently I am mistaken...I had that image saved as a '77, but it's actually a '67-'72 F100 box, so my bad. Viperwolf1 saves the day.

No bushings either. Just a closely machined bore and shaft.

Sorry for the bad into above...is it one of the "color" head (RedHead, Blue-Top, etc) companies that machines the case for bushings/bearings? I apparently need to tear into my box more often.

There’s several rebuilders that offer that service. I’ve always used Lee’s Power Steering. They’re located just outside of Los Angeles.
