Hi, need help with steering box I have, I think it is 4x4x2, from about 15 years ago.
Wild horses stock version looks like this, which would bolt up, but inlet outlet face up, not inboard and down like mine which is a problem. This is WH version, stock
edit, i guess my contributor dropped., fixed
my box
top view looking down, hoses enter left aft side of box, top of box in pix
my box above, is a little shorter from the picture from WH, from top frame bolt to the top of box looks about 1 inch shorter., and inlet outlet are about 120 degrees further toward passenger side. In other words they point down about 40 degrees, making it an absolute pain to tighten.
I have been fighting a weep/leak from I think the high pressure hose, maybe low pressure, I think the boxes female port conical face, is not the right angle or damaged. I have tried copper washers. Doesn't spray, just sort of leaves drops of very hard to see PSC power steering fluid.
Next issue, I really not a fan of the increase ratio this has, it's like 3 to 1 vs stock 4 to 1? Makes it squirrely at speed, thinking of going back to stock. Cures my weep/leak, makes hose issue easier.
