NP205 Transfer Case Adapter Seal

For those who have rebuilt one of these, I am installing the adapter seal and it's not real clear on the orientation of the seal. How do you know the correct way to install it? It's the double lip seal, so I'm not sure it really matters. Want to ensure I don't get transmission fluid in the transfer case and vice versa. Considering it’s a double lip seal, I assume it doesn’t matter. Want to make sure before I install this thing.

It really doesn't matter, one side is easier to get the driver on correctly, that's the side I always put to the outside.
X2...I did something similar on my NV4500 tailhousing as well and used a double-lip oil seal with the housing side out. Easier to install and remove if/when needed.
