Anti theft

A lot of us jokingly say that one of the best antitheft devices is a three-on-the-tree manual transmission shifter! :)
Electronically it might depend on how your bronco is set up. Do you have all original wiring or has it been updated?
And are you talking about for long-term storage, or just while temporarily parked?

Lots of discussions about it over the years, but not a lot of single ideas stand out as best.

Ignition cut off switch somewhere, hidden or in plain sight as long as you know what it is. I don't think there is anything you can do about stuff being stolen from the bronco though. Maybe you can get a dash cam with parking mode turned on, that way it will record while you are away if someone messes with the bronco.......but then they would just steal the dash cam too.

But don't forget the legendary rabid-badger or trunk-monkey of yesteryear...

To Paul's point above, I heard on radio this morning that only 18% of people can now drive a standard shift!

Hidden cut off switch is a great idea. Also, turning your fuel valve to OFF under the seat helps too

Good alarm system with field disturbance detection sensor, gps sensor, and cellular module. Without a top, Nothing will stop them from grabbing something out of it though

If someone is “hunting” for a parked collector car, there is little you can do if they are smart thieves. A flatbed and winch will have your bronco gone in 2 minutes. However, here are some things you can do to ward off the not so smart thieves.
1. Hidden cutoff switch is difficult to bypass if they try to steal it by starting it. They are cheap and easy to install ( few bucks).
2. An alarm with a high pitch siren mounted in the cab under dash. You can get sirens that will force a thief to plug their ears which takes two hands.
3. Don’t leave your classic unattended or out of sight. I drive my classics for pleasure rides and park them where I can see them if I go inside a restaurant.
4. Get good replacement insurance like Hagerty or others that specialize in classics.
Put a cheap and simple gps tag somewhere out of sight. They may steal it, but you and the cops will find it within minutes.
5. As offered, a dog, a big dog.

have the three on the tree and flip my valve up and never worry about it.
The fuel valve works well I would think. I used to do the same thing when I had a second tank.
A fuel cutoff as well as ignition could be useful.

Someone makes little micro switches that could be triggered with a ballpoint or something similar. They weren't obvious unless you are a skilled car theif.

These days they show up with a rollback and drag it on through..

for those of you who have a fuel cut off what aftermarket one are you all using? I am running an explorer 5.0 fuel injected and would like to add a fuel cut off on my rig.

Like several said. Elect cutoff switch, fuel cutoff switch, hidden gps, GOOD insurance.

Park in highly visible areas which is hard to do at trailheads. A rollback can take your rig within a minute. Rollbacks dragging your rig up on the deck just looks like they are impounding it. Nobody will question it. It's just gone.

When I'm in the boonies I remove my strg wheel after cranking the tires full left or right. With hydroassist you can barely with extremely difficulty turn the strg wheel w/o the engine running. Without the steering wheel towing the rig behind a Chevy pickup will be extremely difficult. They'd have to know to cut the hydraulic lines and then still try to drag it down the road. Even if they hotwire it you can't steer it.

Least these things make it harder to steal.

I really got to get my damn quick disconnect wheel on my rig, but work too much and on computer too fkng much to have time. Maybe this spring :)
