Like several said. Elect cutoff switch, fuel cutoff switch, hidden gps, GOOD insurance.

Park in highly visible areas which is hard to do at trailheads. A rollback can take your rig within a minute. Rollbacks dragging your rig up on the deck just looks like they are impounding it. Nobody will question it. It's just gone.

When I'm in the boonies I remove my strg wheel after cranking the tires full left or right. With hydroassist you can barely with extremely difficulty turn the strg wheel w/o the engine running. Without the steering wheel towing the rig behind a Chevy pickup will be extremely difficult. They'd have to know to cut the hydraulic lines and then still try to drag it down the road. Even if they hotwire it you can't steer it.

Least these things make it harder to steal.
I think that's what bugs me most about possible theft, which is leaving it in the middle of nowhere at a trail head. Probably the second place is outside at a hotel area.

I'm in the process of putting my rig back together, but I did buy locking hood pins this go around.

I figured it just adds another layer of aggravation to a thief to keep them moving on to something else.

I’m with Torkman.. I have thought about all of these but my biggest fear is some guy coming by with wrecker, lifting the front and it’s gone.

hotels are my biggest worry, and it will be a wrecker, in and out, gone. Even still on the trailer, they can just take it all. Seen it happen, tow rig, trailer and contents gone.

every little bit would help that's for damn sure.. Specially if you avoid parking in the wrong places or at night right

Don't you guys hate this. I bought an EB because I wanted a small old Ford for offroading. It had been rode hard & put away wet. Nothing that anyone would want to steal. I joke about it being too ugly to steal, but in reality the value has gone so nuts that even my poor old Bronco could be a target.

I just wanted an old Bronco for the fun of it. Something for me to keep, enjoy, & work on. Not something to sell for a profit. Definately not some investment that thieves would want.

This is when I bought it. It looks better now, but it's still no show truck.

Our real problem is this: VALUE. FLIPPERS, BAT, HAGGERTY, Social Media, Movies, etc.

Value is destroying our Sport, Sleep and Sanity. The three "S's".

IF, big if, but if the value hadn't increased 20-50X what the value was back when they were only 10-15 yrs old we could drive our Broncos and not worry about dents on the trail or parking lot dings or a small fender bender because they were just a Bronco, not some ridiculous over priced, worn out, barely able to move under it's own power Bronco and still be worth $25,000+.

We could sleep all night when we're at an event someplace because we aren't worried about someone stealling our $120,000 MALL Crawler Bronco.

We wouldn't be freakin' out having an anxiety attack not being able to enjoy our evening when sitting at the restaurant having dinner with friends because nobody would want to steal our $4,000 Bronco (early 2000 value) but now that it's worth $65,000 it's a VIABLE concern.

I'll say it again... I really hate the market and I dislike those taking advantage of the market by flipping and making $30-50K at essentially at MY expense and costing me more every year. Don't even begin to think I"m jealous, I hate what these external influences have done to long term Bronco owners and our sport. I'd be extremely happy if my Bronco was worth $12,000 again and my insurance company didn't feel that I drive a "high risk of theft" vehicle because of their inflated value.

There, I said it again. :) Rant over till next time. lol

Have a great day people!

Ignition cut off switch somewhere, hidden or in plain sight as long as you know what it is. I don't think there is anything you can do about stuff being stolen from the bronco though. Maybe you can get a dash cam with parking mode turned on, that way it will record while you are away if someone messes with the bronco.......but then they would just steal the dash cam too.
This. I did this. Switch under dash. Have main battery line switch installed. But only because my Fitech kept draining my battery dead after a few days… ..
