Tuffy glovebox with Vintage Air

I’m looking at glove box options to fit a full roll cage. I was thinking about the locking Tuffy box but it looks like it would be too deep for the Vintage Air system I have installed. Anyone have experience with this?

Yes I do and no it won't work.

I tried to make one work with even a stock style plastic box and it worked but still crushed the vent tubing.

The box they send with the kit is about half or less the depth and is really the only way to make it sort of functional that I know of.

I suppose you could cut the tuffy box down to roughly half the depth then continue you on. You still get a locking storage function, just not as much of it.

I was really just looking to make the door clear a full cage so I guess I’m going to do the side hinge hack.

You guys made me think about modifying the box.
Either creating a shallow rectangular channel on the back with ends at either side that could be adapted to the vintage air hose, or a simple, round pass-through, right straight through the back of the box. Using a metal tube, again that can be adapted to the VA where it sticks out of either side.

I guess that’s a new product someone needs to come out with.

Yes the tuffy is made to work with the down front leg as it is blocked on that side and has a shorter door. Regardless, depending on how your hoses are run behind the box you will have issues likely getting the box in place or the dash back in place. If the hoses come out under the dash might help some?
