Jeff's Rear Poly EFI tank?

Has anyone used this, and have any feedback? It seems like it's relatively new to the market, and no one else is selling an equivalent. I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like.

I've decided to go EFI, and I have functional dual tanks, so I'm weighing:
  1. Edelbrock Fuel sump- easy, not too expensive. I daily drive and I worry about longevity, so if I buy a replacement in a year or 2, I've now spent $850 when I could have gone to a single, larger tank w/ a standard pump
  2. Convert both sending units into EFI pumps using a Walbro 255 and other parts (that'll cost me a couple hundred bucks for each sending unit), and it's still a bit of an experiment w/ a bunch of work.
  3. Go with a single aftermarket EFI tank.
I like the Poly tank at Jeff's as opposed to the other options because:
  1. Not cheap, but a little cheaper than the other options.
  2. I have no body lift
  3. I like that it doesn't hang as low, and I can live w/o the extra 3 gallons.
  4. I'm not rockcrawling, but I do offroad. I have no experience with poly tanks, but is a 1/4" thick poly tank fairly resilient, especially considering a stock tank is what, 16ga.?
Before I invest close to $800-$1700, I figured I get some input.

I think it's a slick idea. If it's well made that is.
I think you're correct that it's relatively new to the market. Seems like someone brought it up awhile back, but I can't remember how long. Don't seem to remember reading about anyone installing one yet, but I'd be interested to hear their thoughts about it for sure.

Good luck on the decision. Lots of choices!

Go with the in-tank pump in the main tank. It will be quieter and you'll be happier in the long run.

I'd set up the aux tank with a P4070 pump to move the fuel out of it and into the main tank. then set up the main tank to have a low over-flow hose going back to the aux tank. That way if you forget to turn off the transfer pump all that happens is the fuel circulates between the tanks and you don't end up with fuel spilling out of the main's filler cap. That would be bad.

Good video. Looks like the tank is just made for zero body lift? Yours appeared to be installed but not up against the bottom of the body, correct?

I didn't know that tank was out. Me like it but once again...the price is killing me.......hard to move away from my stock tank and external pump setup as it only cost the price of the pump. That said, I'll add this to my wish.

It was designed for no body lift. I have a 2" lift and it looks like plenty of room if you were running zero to me. However, I'm told that recently someone with zero lift reported that the fuel lines coming out of the pump rubbed the bottom of the body, so he has been recommending a 1" lift. Slightly bending the hardline of the pump was enough for clearance in that situation, redrilling the mounting bracket hole may be another solution.

But what is unknown is the condition of the body mounts, maybe they were worn and had a bunch of squish. Maybe there is a little bit of difference between pump manufacturers... So in the interest of full disclosure, I would expect that zero body lift may require slight modification to fit.

IIRC, the bare tank is $520. The skid, pump, fuel level converter, etc... are all extra. The skid plate and mounting hardware can be upgraded to stainless as well.

Instead of a 1 inch body lift (which I do like a lot by the way) you could perhaps add small spacers to the top of the tank.
The tank is still in contact with the body, but at least a little more space for fuel lines.
Think that might be an alternative?

Something like that may work. It doesn't sound like it would take much to clear and AFAIK only one person has reported the clearance issue with the lines. It could be that he sourced his own pump and the lines just don't have as tight of a radius. But it sounds like we are talking about 1/4" or so of interference.

It would be nice if we had a bone stock Bronco nearby to put on my lift so he could check the clearance issue. But, we're pretty far out in the sticks.

Yes, the fb thread has a price breakdown of every piece they offer vs the kit form broncograveyard sells...i haven't looked to see what the difference in pricing between the 2 is

Can someone send me a link to the FB thred or a link to just the tank?

I like sourcing parts myself vs buying kits.

The secret to getting a hat like that is:

1. Be a previous EFI Guy customer.
2. Find EFI Guy at a Bronco event.
3. Shake his hand and receive a free hat.
I am a big time EFI Guy fan and customer
Couldn't find you at the WH event last year
Would love to shake your hand regardless of free hat or not. But would love a hat!!
