Sand is fun but some people have to spend more time cleaning out their Broncos than others. :)

To the mile the same distance as it was to my Grandmothers front door, 2034 miles, she lived in Forest Grove. Tad over 30 hours with no stops lol. That would give me an excuse to wander around the Pacific Range and the Cascades, some places there I’d like to visit again and a few I’d like to find. Wonder if I could get away with taking 6 weeks off?🤦‍♂️🤣

Just shy of 9hrs for us with a couple quick stops. Check out the sand dunes at Florence, Or and Winchester Bay sand dunes just south on 101 also.

Also Sand Lake farther north, a little south of Tillamook.
Yup.... the beginnings of family oriented Off Road Bronco events for the everybody.. home of SOB for 13 yrs. Made all but the first one. I go there almost every year after the NW Bronco RdUp in Florence each year. It amazes me that the "hill" coming up out of Sand Lake used to be a challenge if the whooops were big but 98% of us without paddles needed to be in 4HI. Now I park at the bottom in 2WD and hit it and I'm still accelerating at the top compared to the old days of "yay, we made it". lol Suspension makes a world of difference...

Found memories of SOB. Camping at the Treeline. John's 7 lbs. of bacon cooked in one morning. Tracer-Spuds. FLYING over the whoops in CAT's Exploder. Roger Bell's comically small tent trailer (I was envious!), Cheney's Dutch Oven desserts, Fred's crewcab 404, Allan getting zip-tied into his tent. Following Al's "Pinco" up there from Nor CA. TZ arriving nearly deaf from driving a bikini top all the way up from PHX.

I think we're going to be in Scotland... If not, I'll be there! I know, rough choice but...

I was involved in a couple of those events! I remember being the air source for the "Tracer Spuds" shooting at quads after dark with your kevlar wrapped spud gun... I zip tied Allan in... and you and I were the only 2 that CAT said would ride with him in his Exploder! LOL Dang, Roger's feet almost hung out of the door in that tent trailer! :)

Definitely good times... Glad to be a part of them for sure

It’s only 2841 miles for me. We made to the SOB event back ‘98 when we lived in Tualatin. Man it’s pretty out there at Sand Lake and Hay Stack Rock.

Thinking about it, it must have been a 416, not a 404. That wasn't you, was it phred?
