Man, I love the look of this. There is a part of me that loves the shiny stuff, but the ones with old paint and have the look that its ready for anything and has crossed the desert a few hundred times just does it for me! One of my favorite rigs was a black bronco I bought from a dealer in Savanah GA, it had spent its life on the coast and was actually traded in my the older ladies heirs. Anyway, I brought it home tore the top, doors and tailgate off because they were soon going to fall off and drove it that way for at least a year. Bone stock, sat in the rain, sun, whatever, Jump in and take off with no worries.. Finally the ignition fried itself and that was the end..

Anyway, really really digging this build! Keep the pics coming.

While I’m waiting for my Trac Bar mount to arrive, I spent the week addressing other items on the long list. I replaced the Flow Kooler water pump that started dripping right as I started this project. Plumbed my crankcase ventilation program. Ran all new braided fuel lines- supply and return. Welded in limit straps for the rear axle. Solved the fuel filler relocation: added new style cap and filler neck, set it up so it tucks away in the quarter, but can be pulled out and filled above the tire. Going to add a spring to keep it tucked up out of harms way. I think it will work.

Hey, do you remember what fuel filler neck and cap you used? I’ve been thinking about building one like that as well.

At least the selling would have been your choice. The burning to the ground part, that’s not always a conscious decision!

I’ve had a string of these kind of trips, flats, engine fires, coolant puking out of the block, power steering coolers leaking all over… got real close to selling this or burning it to the ground.

Well, it's not like you baby it..... I appreciate your comment re: six inches shorter. It seems the the build process for a lot of the nonstock crowd is trial and error.
