Yup!Paint everything black and polish off the overspray.
As a kid working in a very large Ford Dealership during the mid 1960's I saw many new OE hub caps. They were never perfect, like we would expect today. They must have used a Stencel like you would see on a silk screen. The painted colors did not always align with the embossed letters.I’ve always wondered how Ford did paint those back in the 60s
I have a set also and would love that restore them.

Hmmm..., I would not have guessed that.Reviving this old thread as I saw a decal solution on Ebay. I just bought a set so I will see when they get here but this looks like a good option.

Definitely let us know how it goes. I'd be concerned on a hub cap about getting the stickers to adhere well enough over the years. Good prep will be key.I just bought a set so I will see when they get here but this looks like a good option.

Like any decal, I assume preparation is the key to success. I have no idea how long they will last on a hub cap or if decals have even been used successfully before.Wax?
