Hey guys, Happy New Year.

The 302 in my truck has had a water pump with a driver side lower rad hose and reversed radiator since i bought it 28ish years ago. Not the original motor.
My radiator failed recently, and rather than rebuilding it again I have just replaced the rad, water pump and hoses with parts from one of our vendors. Standard bronco parts.
I checked the depth of the water pump pulley flange before I started and all looked good. I didn't think to check the centerline of the shaft relative to the old pump, but it is lower (closer to the crank) than what I had. Now the pump pulley interferes with the crank pulley.
Crank pulley is a 4 bolt, 2V, 8" diameter. Water pump pulley is 1V, 7", and about 3-1/8" from face to face.
I'm having a hard time finding what I need. I can buy a new pulley kit, but I don't know if my dampner is standard bronco depth or something different.
How can I tell, or I there an easier way to get this running again?

4-bolt damper is not correct Bronco damper.

Warning right now, small block Ford pulley mix and match is HORRIBLE. There are so many different versions. You are likely to find that once you change the water pump to a Bronco one the lower hose will go through the timing pointer as well. Then there is figuring what engine you have. You call it a 302, so it could be a 28 or 50 imbalance. The 4-bolt damper could be had either way. But the 3-bolt is only available in 28.

Oh this can of worms is just starting to get opened...

Yup. Ive stalled doing this in the past and had the rad recored and replaced water pumps, but the tanks of the rad were done this time.
I am dangerously confident It is a 28oz imbalance, and I know I should just pull the starter and header to check the casting number but I'm trying to avoid that.
You are correct about the timing indicator.
I installed an HO alternator and power steering setup before there were kits, so I knew going into it that I maybe had to re-work those brackets.
I have now confirmed that balancer face to water pump pulley face is 3". I am leaning towards a set from cvf racing. I know nothing about them though.

From the write up it on the product page it appears this would align my crank and pump pulleys, and if I have to align my accessories so be it.
Anyone have a better path forward? Other than explorer front dress, lol.

Because it's a Ford and that's why so few Hot Rod them. Literally a can of worms that is "year specific" enough to drive ya crazy or just make ya start thinking that you'll LS it out of spite... lol

I'm sure as big as CVS is they have it figured out pretty well, which is good because Ford does their best to make sure nothing interchanges from year to year. Got a couple buddy's running SBC CVS stuff. Fits good.

There is always the Explorer accessory drive option. Upgrades so many things, parts available from most parts stores.
