yeah the ammeter is pulsing also at high/er rpm and all the lights (dash and tach) ... when its at a idle everything is fine.. i tested it with the voltmeter and it shows its charging... the voltage regulator is that box thing on the passenger fender right? maybe ill swap on our parts bronco...

Update.... So I took it to the machine shop today and the guy tried to time it.... But he said the mark was off and I need to bring it to top dead center and re mark it..... So he timed it by ear... Also we found another port under the carb that was sucking air... So we plugged both the holes...

idle speed in neutral is at 900.. the machine shop guy told me to keep it at that for a while to break the cam in... when it wouldnt go over 1500 i think it was the timing was way off... i had the whole thing assembled i was going to do the heads my self but then figured i would just have them...

ha rio grill havent been there in a while but just left baja you fly ill buy....... also i can get it to sound great and rev awesome when its in park but once i put it in gear it lopes out and wants to die

alright paul got a update for you... hooked that ground wire up... and still have a flicker while on the pedal... ... still having trouble with the vacuum also.. if your ever down my way (carmel valley) or around let me know i think i need a senior bronco member to check this thing out

hm... yes i did wire the red wire from the module to the + side on the coil with the red wire that comes out of the firewall...(i think the ignition.) should i just hard wire that to the battery since its right there? or does it need a resistor?

10-4 thanks paul should have put 2 and 2 together and realized that three going into 2 meant that the ring needed to be grounded.... we hooked a voltmeter up earlier and it was showing it was charging...but i definitely just left that thing hanging cuz i thought it was just a mount

ok orange cap goes to the "F" resistor looking thingy goes to ground... and the black with yellow stripes goes?? to the "bat"? im going to check the distributor in the morning... theres 2 ports on the passenger side of the carb the one i thought it was originally going into is the one that...

ok im going to keep going on this post... so that resistor looking thing has 3 wires going into it and 2 out... so put that on the ground..... then the orange goes where and the black and yellow goes where?

its a 72 i believe it had the original 302 in it when i got ahold of it... not hacked at all

im not sure about the timing light if the pointer i have on there is the wrong one (i pulled it off the 302) or the balancer is the wrong one (off my parts 351) but where the engine likes to run the white line on the balancer is no where to be found..... i have the cam papers and it says the...

k i also just posted this in a older thread i started but figure id start a new one... when i plug the vacuum line in off the side of the carb... the engine dies and runs like crap... any ideas on why its doing this??? its a brand new 351 i just dropped in... with new distributor.. i think the...

i just asked this but i figure id start another thread..... my alternator wiring has 2 wires... i thought there were 3 did one fall off.??? theres a orange cap wire... and a black and i think yellow wire... where do these go... when i hit a high/er rpm all the lights surge...

ok update..... got it running drove it... something still isnt right... if i hook the vacuum up to the distributor it dies.... unplugged its fine... timing it seems to be a problem with the light so were just doing it off ear for now... i need to find the wiring diagram for the alternator...

Ok guys got it to fire but won't got much higher than 1500rpm before backfiring and sputtering.... Getting close but still no cigar

yep i am aware we went off the firing order that the cam paper said

ok i have the green to the negative... still no go... im basically going off this diagram except for the red wire that comes out of my fire wall i tied that in with the red wire on the ignition box and the + on the coil still getting the occasional hiccups (backfire)... not sure what to do...
