just installed new alternator and volt regulator. checked readings and still inly getting 12.6 or so at battery? whats wrong now?

now i cranked the motor and turned on the lights, the neddle on the dash read about 15 D (discharging i guess) turn lights off and it reads about 0? is this right the alternator is brand new with a new volt regulator? why wont it give a charge reading?

what is the yellow wire that goes into the voltage regulator for?

i have a wire that comes from the coil (a split wire) one goes to the distributer where is the other supposed to lead to? also there are 3 wires in the back of my alternator an orange and black that goes up passenger side and i guess a white that leads to what? man do i have wiring problems

should the signal (electrical current) from the tank switch on the dash to the fuel tank sender be pulsating? also how is the sender removed from the tank? where can you find the wire connector that hooks to the sender itself ? NAPA??? thanks

where do you touch the voltmeter ends to and also where is the volt regulator?

just went for a quick spin in my 74 had to jump off in the beginning got back turned it off and then it wouldnt crank again either what is the best way to tell if the alternator is working or not? ?:?
