York Compressor on a 5.0 Serp. system?

This idea has be thrown around before and I would like an update if anyone has made this work. I have a 90 Mustang with PS and serpentine belt system to be mounted in my 76 Bronco. I am willing to give up the factory AC compressor and would like to replace it with a york. Has any one done this...

    Wing vent eliminated

I too have given this thought. Yes, there is bracing inside the door which supports the hinges. The glass could not be full length. If one where to fill in the front corner (a right triangle with about 6" legs) with a metal filler panel, it would make a great place to attach rear view mirrors. I...

    Liscense Plate Rod replacement?

I too broke mine. I began to look around my shop and found a galvinized rod that I believe is 1/4" in diameter. I bought this rod as a 2 or 3' length from a local hardware shop. It is very common and would be at Loews or Home Depot. Measure yours before buying 1/4". Good luck. It is not orignal...

With 5.0 is it possible to attach a Saginaw PS pump in serp. bracket?

I will have the serpentine belt system on the front of a 5.0 HO motor in my 76 Bronco which has a 2" body lift. Is it possible to install a Saginaw power steering pump into the bracketry that now holds the Mustang pump. I thank you guys in advance. Lodnirgs

With 5.0 HO, is it possible to attach a York compressor to the AC Bracket?

I will be installing a complete Mustang 5.0 HO motor (serpentne setup, EFI, but not the pollution air pump) into my 76 Bronco with a 2" body lift. I would like to replace the factory AC compressor with a York commpressor. Have you been able to do this or seen this done? Second question is - Is...

    Ring and Pinion install?

I have helped with two set ups and have been supervised through a third. It is difficult to get right without experience. The rear 9" is much more comfortable and can be setup on the bench, the front axle must be done while you are under the truck, very uncomfortable. Get help for if you have to...

EFI 5.0 Best one for my EB?

I agree that the Mass Air Flow Mustang 5.0 is best. The previous reply is correct for California Spec. cars. Only California 88 Mustangs were MAF, all other states' 88 Mustangs were Speed Density. All Mustanags from 89 to 93 are MAF. Good Luck with your searce, Lodnirgs

    Backspacing explained?

For '76-77 Broncos, a backspace of about 3 5/8" is a much as I can use with aluminum wheels. Steel wheels would allow a little more. Earlier Broncos have a different tierod end arrangement and close to 4" is doable.

    Backspacing explained?

There is no such thing as positive/negative backspacing. It is always a positive amount. Positive/negative would be used in describing "OFFSET", which is the distance from the mounting surface to the centerline of the width of the wheel. Ex. If an 8" wide wheel had 0" offset, its mounting...

Help with a TFI wire on a 5.0HO conversion

I have been using Ryan's schematics to rework a 90 Mustang HO harness. There is a Red/blue stripped wire that connects to the TFI plug at the distributor and stops at the coupling to the Mustang's main underdash harness. On Fordfuelinjection.com, Ryan's schematic show this wire to go to start...

    "ARB" Type Switches

I recently ordered some of these Contura switches from Waytek. The price was very fair and the delivery time - very acceptable. These appear to be high quality switches. I orded the DPST single light switch #44325. I also have the official ARB switch. I have not installed the ARB switch. The ARB...

With 5.0 EFI, is it possible to attach the MAF directly/close to throttle body?

Has anyone accomplished this or know of any reason that it would not work? I have a 5.0 HO engine that I will be installing. I would like to attach the MAF sensor in-line with the trottle body with as little distance between them as possible. There would then be no elbow. This will place the...

    Transfer Case

I recently did the same job. My thirteen rollers were placed as far into the bore as possible. I did take some jigling for them to fall into place. Do slather the area with some grease so that when in place, the rollers do not fall out. Good luck. lodnigs
