    Dash removal

The new harnesses use wire with significantly better cross-linked insulation. The ampacity rating is higher on the newer style wire and that is why the gauge is generally smaller for the same application. It is the same concept as 75C and 90C industrial conductors. Having said that, there is...

Vehicle Lift Points for Early Broncos

I have exactly the same lift as the OP and lift my Broncos this way. I have done it hundreds of times and none of them have ever budged. The radius arm mount point needs to be about a foot in front of the mast to get a good balance. Anytime I put any vehicle on the lift, I get it about two...

    wiper washer nozzle, highlander hood?

I have installed the stock nozzles on two Highlander hoods and never had any problems. I always duplicate the stock locations from a steel hood. The Highlander is only 1" taller in the back near the windshield and it doesn't seem to cause the nozzle to spray the glass wrong. I had a Pro Flow...

    Repair or Rewire??

I can tell you that a new wiring harness is still one of the best investments I ever made to my Bronco. It isn't so much that I can't fix problems as they arise, I just got tired of doing it over and over. I put a Centech in mine 15 years ago and simply don't have problems with wiring. The...

76 bronco DESTROYING starter solenoids!!! HELP!

Just did this two times in a row on my son's '77. The original was sticky and it sometimes wouldn't start. The brand new relays both failed between the S and I posts within a day of install. It would start fine but you couldn't get it to turn off! Still running on the original with...

    TBP floor pan ?

The ones I have installed were not fabricated that way. It looks like these are made so you can either cut the flange off of the new pan OR cut the original flange off of the inner rocker and attach the pan from the side. Maybe its someone's "better" idea to make the install faster or easier?

These heater hoses give me anxiety

Look up the hoses for a 1996 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand). Most of these part numbers land under that and most parts houses still keep them around.

    Truck dies when hot out

I have two broncos with external fuel pumps and EFI and both of them suffer from this exact same issue in hot weather. I can get my fuel so hot on the trails that you can hear it boiling in the tank. At that point, the fuel vaporizes in the line on the suction side of the pump and the pump...

Whats the top speed i can expect with stock drivertrain?

The high gear in the 3 speed is 1:1, just like any other non-overdrive transmission. The transmission itself won't have a lot to do with the top speed and the shift mechanism won't have anything to do with it. It's mostly limited by max allowable rpm of the engine, which is determined by...

    Hydraulic clutch leaking

I've had a hydraulic clutch in mine since the early 90's and I've put several masters in that were doing the exact same thing. Mine usually fail because it sits for a long time and the seal dries out or sticks to the rod or something similar and then i tear it when I finally drive it. Does...

Adjustable Track Bar - Centering frame to body method

I've always struggled with this as well. I usually end up getting as close as I can and then jacking the front end off of the ground over and over between fine adjustments until the axle is centered. I have found that I always needed to move the truck back and forth between lifts to get...

Restore or run fast as i can!!!

I agree with the others that time and money are required but I personally think that half cab looks pretty solid. In my experience, the inner fender just in front of the firewall is the first place to rust out on these old broncos. From what i can see in the picture, that looks pretty solid...

    A Bronco for My Girl

The weekend was mostly consumed with snow clearing duties around here. I spent all day on Saturday in the driveway just to have 2 feet or so drift back in Sunday morning. I gave up on the driveway and pulled the tub off of the chassis. Not much to say except it's ready for the chassis work to...

    A Bronco for My Girl

We'll see, the last one took me 6 1/2 years. I'm hoping I can do a little better this time around.

Assembled Welded Floor Section by Dynacorn

I know for sure that the front posts don't have to come out to replace the front floor panels. I haven't ever replaced a striker post but I can't see why they would need to come out to R&R the floor.

    A Bronco for My Girl

I thought that buying the floors instead of fabbing them like last time would lead to a better looking floor. As it turns out, the ones my son and I built from scratch (rolled beads and all) looked better when we were done. This one probably saved me about 1 hour of fab time though %)

    A Bronco for My Girl

I got the floor replaced yesterday after a little work on the replacement panel. This panel isn't the flattest thing I've ever seen right out of the box. It also didn't fit the floor in this bronco at all. Maybe they are all like this or maybe it's this particular truck. I started by cutting...

    Tailgate Question

This is where it takes some ingenuity. I have only done this once and I think I had everything that could be removed off. Then I used a stick or rod or something with a glob of duct tape (sticky side out) to maneuver the plate back into place. It was a multi-beer duration job, if I remember...
