James Duff lower coil retainers don't look right

No the spring won't back out of the retainer part at the bottom. It's clamped at the top still, and given the weight bearing down on it, it's not going anywhere. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

James Duff lower coil retainers don't look right

Way easier than OEM. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

James Duff lower coil retainers don't look right

You're correct. That's how they're designed. I run them with no issues. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

The Amazon hyperlink goes to the product to add to your liquid deadener of choice. I'm going to read up more on it. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

Yeah, Paul....check post #15 in this thread. It's an option.

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

Raptor lined. Different for sure. I still need something to at least combat the mechanical metal sounds when driving. I wouldn't think covering the entire underside would be needed but perhaps 4 squares spaced out evenly should take care of that. Then put whatever heat insulation over it.

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

Top and doors come off every year. Realistically the top is only on 3 months or so out of the year. It's on during the winter months, which is why I'm talking about thermal insulation as I'm trying to keep as much heat as I can inside. I've been working a lot on replacing all of my...

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

That's not a bad idea. Maybe just toss a bag of that in lizard skin sound deadener vs buying a separate thermal coating. Hmmm. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

I was thinking of lizard skin Paul. I just wasn't sure if they did a thermal barrier as well but it sounds like you have to do two different ones to get that effect. As far as the outside of my hardtop, it's already been Raptor lined. It's black and it's a textured coating and I actually like...

What type of closed cell insulation? Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

I checked and the cross braces are there and seem in decent shape.

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

Jeff, you got any pics? Did you completely cover the inside of the top? I heard for some sound deadening, you really only need a piece or two of the dynamat type stuff. Should get rid of the tin sound. I had heard that most items like dynamat or kilmat aren't necessarily good for thermal...

I love my hardtop but damn it’s noisy

Two things. Replace the OG tailgate hinges with cables. That helps a lot. Replace the lift gate hinges with gas shocks. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

True, but I don't even know if the cross braces are good. I'll have to check. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

That's why I was thinking of spray foam so as not to add weight. Again I do not have any type of headliner. It's just bare(painted) metal. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold using Tapatalk

Spray thermal insulation / Sound deadening?

Hello all, Getting to be about that time to put the top on the bronco for the winter. My top has no headliner at all. So, 1: I would like to kill the tinniness and the flexing of the top when it's on AND 2: I would like to put some time of thermal barrier in it to keep the heat in. I also...

    Well damn...

Got some measurements for you, Paul. If it matters, the rear of the bronco is currently supported by extra tall jackstands under the rear bumper so it's sitting higher than the front. The front, still on the tires and loaded measured: Passenger top of axle tube to bottom of frame: 8 1/4"...

    Well damn...

Thanks, Paul. I run a full top in the winter. I do keep the rear seat in and haul my teens around. No tire carrier etc. Shocks are newer all around. I'll try to get that measurement tomorrow. I asked because something in head was telling me that most lift kits had the leafs about half an...

    Well damn...

No worries. I'm going with my buddy's big bearing rear with the 28 spline axles and an open diff for now. I'm ditching the spool. When I get to upgrading to 31 splines I'll put a Lock Rite in it. Paul, I have a question.....since I'm going the inexpensive route here, there is something that...
