    Well damn...

I mean I was told by the shop that installed it years ago that they weren't strong. However, I've beat the hell out of it. Well, I'm zeroing in on the option I'm going to go with. Same buddy responsible for the amazing welds on my caliper brackets has a big bearing, early bronco rear end with...

    Well damn...

Thanks, Paul. These were the factory 50 year old axles but they've had the bearings replaced within the last few years. Mini spool has been in for the better part of 15 years or longer. 35"s have been on for at least 2 years. I've got a local buddy with a set of stock axles with bearings...

    Well damn...

Pulling out of a parking lot and stock 28 spline small bearing axle gave it up. Mini spool, 35s and a hard life finally proved too much. Sigh ... Broke outside of the bearing. The caliper bracket is the only thing that held the wheel on. Now I have to replace them. Do we still not really...

What options for lower radiator hose on 351W EFI

Haha. I keep a spare. I've got something just a hair off and it always takes a rib off. That one's been on there awhile. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

What options for lower radiator hose on 351W EFI

I'll have to get you a pic but I ran into this. I essentially cut up a couple of rad hose elbows and used a piece of metal pipe to gap between. However Im not running an oil cooler. I'm running a 70s era Windsor with a 5.0 accessory belt set up. So I had to go from the water pump on the...

    Another radio wiring question

Ok, before throwing in the towel and taking it to a stereo shop, I double checked the manual and then got on a chat with Crutchfield (where I bought the unit and speakers). Guy said it did require both switched and unswitched connections to be made. I had used the meter on the switched power...

    Another radio wiring question

Ugh... Unbelievably frustrating.... I ditched the dash switch idea and tried to do this properly. Still unable to find a yellow w/black or green with black wire, I used a test light and digital voltmeter to find a 12v always hot (key off) and tied my yellow harness wire into that. Then I used...

    Another radio wiring question

No amp or sub on this one. Just a head unit and two 6x9's (rear). Nothing else. I'll have to pull it all apart and see if I misspliced something. I tried to do one connection at a time as to not get confused.

    Another radio wiring question

Before I re-routed the wire back through the firewall (then cut and spliced it into the red power wire of the stereo) I tested it with a sweep voltmeter. Still need batteries for my digital one. In the on position is swept all the way across. In the Off, nada. So, I thought it was working...

    Another radio wiring question

The toggle switch isn't working though. That's my issue.

    Another radio wiring question

Sigh....nothing ever seems to go right. Got wires laid out and spliced together. Speakers won't fit where I was originally thinking but I wired them up and set them in the general space. I could not locate the yellow w/black or the blue w/ white wires. I decided on a different course that...

    Another radio wiring question

Excellent, gents! Thanks! I plan on trying to tackle this tomorrow. I don't ever recall a cigarette lighter in my truck. I'll look for the BL / W regardless.

    Another radio wiring question

Been combing through threads looking at diagrams and discussions. I have zero of the factory radio or speaker in my '73. I've bought a new Pioneer head unit and 2 6x9's to just get something in the way of sound for now. Head unit is going in a Tuffy console and the 6x9s under the bedrails...

Noobie trying to install my own sound system

Any progress on this? I've got a single din headunit and 2 6x9s for now to install and I'm on here searching for which behind the dash wires to tie into. Curious what you ended up doing. Also curious to see pics of how / where you installed a Double DIN in the bronco. Sounds like a great system.

Getting my steering wheel straight after tie rod/drag link install

Duff's makes it. I think it's a slick design. It was designed to be used with their Heim steer kit but can be used more or less with any steering set up. I actually have a probably near 20 year old (bought it new) Bulletproof Steering heim setup on my 73'. Drag link connects all the way over...

Getting my steering wheel straight after tie rod/drag link install

Personally, I like the drag link riser option better than a drop arm. But I only think one parts house is selling those. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

Getting my steering wheel straight after tie rod/drag link install

If your box is truly centered, couldn't you just put the wheels straight (and if your stock pitman arm is straight back) pull the steering wheel off and straighten it? Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

351w Build - stroker or non stroker?

Poor man's 393. I forget the link now but a guy bought a cheap cast crank (forget the specs) used stock 351 rods and stock 302 pistons to get to 393. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

    Factory power steering box leak

Welp, got it out and all of the grime cleaned off. Got the end cap off and am waiting on seals to get here. Hope this takes care of it. If so it'll save me a near $500 outlay for a replacement. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
