    TX 1966 Bronco w/parts

I'd be interested in some of that stuff too, if you were to part it out. Specifically: the painless kit, the radiator and the column. Thanks! mike

Thank you sir! I figured that was the case, but I didn't want to burn up anything.

    Points to coil

Out of complete frustration, I have removed my second Pertronix Ignitor III and went back to the points and the resistor wire. Unfortunately, I can't remember which pole on the coil took the resistor wire and which one took the points wire. Could somebody set me straight? Thanks! mike

    Ground to frame or body

Both sending units worked a couple weeks ago, and then the gauge went dead all of the sudden. The only exception was when I manually switched tanks, and I got values out of both tanks for a little while. Then they both went back to zero. I really appreciate your help on this one. I am...

Could the IVR have shit the bed and caused the sending units to peter out?

My ammeter bounces a lot, but the oil pressure and temp are both steady.

    Ground to frame or body

Paul, I think a weak ground to the chassis must be the issue, but I can't even guess why the engineers at FoMoCo didn't tie the engine to the body/chassis in a more positive way (excuse the pun). Let me try a braided strap or four and see if this issue goes away. Thanks y'all!!! mike

    Ground to frame or body

I am thinking that herein lies the problem. I am trying to isolate a dead fuel gauge issue. A couple weeks ago, both sending units were working. I just replaced the rear one with a Carpenter repro unit about six months ago, and while both went to empty way sooner than either tank ran dry, I was...

    Ground to frame or body

I've got good ground to the engine, but where does the engine ground to the frame? I may be missing something, but I can't find a ground wire between the engine and the frame. Thanks! mike

HEI-style cap for a stock distributor

Anybody know where I can find one for my 302? I just got a set of wires, and I realized that they have the HEI-style connector on the dizzy end. I have searched Summit, and all the caps that have HEI connectors seem to be dedicated replacements for aftermarket distributors. Does anybody know of...

Sustained squeal (think crickets chirping) starts above 15 mph when hot

Found it Update. I did lift up the back end and ran it hot. The sound was coming out of the D20 at the output shaft. I think it's just the dust cover rubbing when hot, but I am not really messing with it at the moment. I picked up two D20s. One was just rebuilt by an off-road shop down here in...

TX ProComp ES2000 stablizer -- ES1000 shocks are sold

Back in April, I bought new ES1000 shocks for all four corners, and they rode great for the 350 or so miles I put on them. About a month and a half after I put them on, I decided to go ahead and do the lift to replace the worn-out springs, bushings, tie rods, drive shafts. etc. Not surprisingly...

Sustained squeal (think crickets chirping) starts above 15 mph when hot

Lars, rear wheel bearings are on the list of things to get to, but sound seems to be coming from something in front of me as I sit in the driver's seat. John, the fan belt is somewhat set back by the time it hits the alternator (bad spacing issue by the PO) but when I hit the clutch and let the...
