Out of complete frustration, I have removed my second Pertronix Ignitor III and went back to the points and the resistor wire. Unfortunately, I can't remember which pole on the coil took the resistor wire and which one took the points wire. Could somebody set me straight? Thanks! mike

Could the IVR have shit the bed and caused the sending units to peter out?

My ammeter bounces a lot, but the oil pressure and temp are both steady.

Paul, I think a weak ground to the chassis must be the issue, but I can't even guess why the engineers at FoMoCo didn't tie the engine to the body/chassis in a more positive way (excuse the pun). Let me try a braided strap or four and see if this issue goes away. Thanks y'all!!! mike
