FRUSTRRATING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM

I don't mean to get off track with this, but I am wondering why you would check for a drain at the positive and not the negative. I have had a few people say that, but I haven't heard an explanation why, so please elaborate. All the training, classes, repair manuals and textbooks that I have...

    My rearend drops down?

When I feel that happening, I always find that a rear axle seal is leaking and has gotten gear lube onto the brake surfaces, so definitely check your rear brakes, and look at the bottom center of the retainer plate for fluid leakage there. Also, it doesn't have to look like much or any has...

    Full Float 31 Spline ????'s

I am looking to get a full floater kit, where is the best place to get one? I know a couple years ago, they were ~$600 complete, now I am seeing them for $800. Also, I have a 28 spline carrier now, will 31 spline axles fit into the carrier? (I am planning on using a mini-spool) TIA! Dave C.

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

Which reminds me of a question... how much oil will cause a problem in a tire? I am trying to eliminate all oil discharge, but with rubber's response to oils, can anyone give us an idea of how much is going to spell real problems? TIA! Dave C.

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

Alright, no success was had, and here is all that I tried. I rotated the head to put the discharge port higher, I played extensively with the crankcase fill plug to see if venting would have any effect, I have plugged the port in behind the front seal, I changed out the mineral oil that I was...

    Brake troubles, need help.

It may be that your brakes are all out of adjustment. The auto adjusters never quite keep up, and especially with your comment about it seeming to improve after backing up and applying the brake a few times. With 4 wheel manual drum brakes, when the brakes are all adjusted correctly, your pedal...

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

As the level gets lower, it does decrease the amount of discharge, but it is still discharging some oil. Anyways, I rotated the head ( to put the discharge port higher ) , and for test purposes, I removed the crankcase fill plug to avoid any pressure, and it was still pushing oil. Thanks for...

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

RPM does seem to be a factor with it, at idle, not much oil at all, but when 1500-2500RPM, it fills up my liquid separator in no time. I am going to try venting the crankcase, and then rotating the head to put the discharge port higher. Thanks!

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

In a previous discussion, Morpheus said : I've been messing with the York for the last couple of weeks. I too have a ton of oil coming out the discharge port. The position I wanted it mounted was on its side due to space limitaions (with the intake on top and discharge below). It pumped a...

Help, York Discharging alot of Oil!

What needs to be done in order to stop my York from discharging so much oil? I have adjusted my oil level and have made some gains, I plugged the front port behind the front seal, but I am still getting alot of oil out the discharge port. At 2500 RPM, I will fill up my filter/liquid separator in...

    York Modification??

What type of oil should/could I run?? I have mineral oil in it now, factoring in that is what it originally used, but I just read that someone was using SAE30 in it? Thoughts?

    York Modification??

BRONKEN - I am taking some of the oil out, so hopefully that will make some difference, but I read a tidbit (after I had bought my York, mounted it and ran it) that suggested getting one that would put the discharge port highest, to help minimize oil discharge. Waverous, by top and bottom I mean...

    York Modification??

My discharge port is on the wrong side. What I am wondering is the head seams to be symmetrical, can I remove the head and valves, and turn them 180 degrees to reverse the positions of my ports?? I am discharging alot of oil, the compressor is at 45 degrees with my discharge port on the bottom...

    New Utah Group!!

We have an upcoming trail ride on Saturday, March 29th. We are heading out to the Cedar Fort area, west side of Utah Lake, to run the Rattlesnake trail. This trail offers some great wheeling from near stock to all out crawlers, all depending on the line you take. See you there!

Cut rockers w/ both gas tanks??

Thanks Mark, that really helps. That gives me a really good idea of what I am looking at as far as potential aux tank exposure.

Thanks again!

Cut rockers w/ both gas tanks??

I am wondering if anyone has cut their rocker panels off, put in rocker skid tubes, etc., and kept their Auxiliary fuel tank in place? I would love to see some pictures of that if possible, and how exposed to damage has that been on the trail? Does it look OK?
I am wanting to cut my rockers...

    Performance Unlimited Steering

It really seems that anything that comes out of PU is great stuff.
I have heard comparisons of Heim joints to a beefier tie rod set up. The thing I have heard is that the heim joints don't feel very nice for driving, which isn't much of a factor for trail only rigs. Personally, between...

    MOAB - any suggestions?

April is a good time to shoot for. Mid april is the Easter Jeep Safari, which is a super crowded non-stop wheeling Party with tons of vendors set up on the south end of town.
The end of April is the Bronco Safari, with a milder turn out, but apparently the better of the 2 for EB lovers. I am...
