City: Cleveland
Price: $ 69000

I'm helping to sell this for a buddy of mine.

It's a 4K original mile Bronco bought from the oldest Ford dealership in Ohio. The dealership only used it as a run-around truck and to plow its own lot which obviously wasn't much due to the mileage and Columbus, Oh doesn't get much snow. The dealership took it out of service like eighteen years ago so it sat in the last parking spot by the dumpster. That is where Joe found it sunken 4” into black top on four flat tires. Spending nearly half of year consistently making phone calls to the dealership trying to buy it he just about gave up... figuring, “one more call”. The general sales manager said the owner was now willing to sell it. The very next day he loaded up his car hauler and we went and got it. As we were out there breaking it loose from the parking lot, all the Ford techs came out to talk to us. Most were just curious but all the older ones were very happy their truck was being saved. One of the techs told us for many years, countless number of people have tried to buy this Bronco. Joe had laughed and said, “I guess I paid too much then?” The tech told us the owner sold to Roche Ford and at the end of the month he was retiring. The tech also said he heard that the Bronco and a few other parts cars were going to be scrapped the very next month under the new ownership... and so another Bronco was saved!

Once Joe got it home he threw a battery in it and poured gas down the carb and it fired right up... the 170's are truly amazing. After a few brake lines, new fuel line and fuel tank, Joe was able to drive it around his neighborhood for couple years unit he started the restoration process.

The restoration process took little over a year and even with only 4K and with everything working as they should, we still did an exhaustive restoration on the Bronco. Joe has all the receipts, but in short everything was gone through and rebuilt. This was not just a re-seal and paint job but fully broken down and rebuilt. As some of the Classics Bronco guys here can attest to, we build our restorations back to original, trying to preserve as much of its originality as possible. So any parts that were purchased we bought extract reproduction or mint condition original parts.

As for paint and body, being an original 4K mileage truck that was great in some aspects but sitting outside for decades made some parts bad. Being a 1/2 cab, the rear bed section was completely shot. The choice was to restore the original tub, buy a new tub and (modify to closer to a ‘66), or find a donor Bronco. Just as we were making that tough decision an uncut rust free non running ‘66 AZ Bronco built in the same month as U14 came available... obviously the choice became very clear! So this cool rare truck got the body it actually deserves to have... 100% all original FoMoCo steel made within weeks of it's rusted original body. So it has all the correct sheet metal: ‘66 eyebrow grill, ‘66 hood, ‘66 tailgate, ‘66 front fenders, ‘66 doors, ‘66 windshield frame, and ‘66 1/2 top, not forgetting all the other rare ‘66 only parts bumpers, horn button, upholstery on bench seat and etc... If someone is truly interested but not well versed in all the ‘66 subtleties I could write something up and email it to you.

I don't have many pictures on hand but Joe and I can start gathering build pictures and better finish pictures then what I have taken on my phone. These pictures definitely don't do this truck any justice. The Rangoon Red in two stage is absolutely gorgeous and the correct ‘66 seat cover that my Amish upholstery made, just makes it looks so right!

If interested please PM and I'll forward Joe's contact info to you.
Thanks Jeff

Thanks guys!

I spent a fair share of time in on it but Joe spent the most. Plenty of late hours in the garage for him!

This one looks very similar to the one that`s on Ebay for sale for a while now. Is this the same one that`s being sold on there right now ? Thanks

Yep that the same truck! It's do back to us this Sunday. I suggested to Joe for him to use RK Motors in Charlotte to sell it. They had it for nearly 7 months. Obviously they couldn't sell it. I've talked to both their consignment manager and salesman. They are just stumped on why they couldn't sell it. The only reason what they came up with it's because it's a 1/2 cab. They have several early Bronco enthusiasts in their customer base which had bought several of my U13's. RK's sales staff keep getting the same feedback over and over... the Bronco is gorgeous in only it had a full top or if it was top less with a back seat.

The consignment manager I have known since ‘08 when they sold my first U13. He was very apologetic and said, “it not do to lack of quality it must be the 1/2 cab configuration”. I told him I find that so surprising because they look so cool and different being a 1/2 cab. The RK guys have always done a great job for me and I will still use them again in then future... I just won't send them a U14.

I hope that clears things up for you guys?
