I thought that the 1961 International Harvester Scout 80 was the first sketch of the Bronco. I can see that I was misinformed. I need to do more research.

If I make enough mistakes like this...can I buy a copy of the book?

Sketches? Really? My kids make a pretty good facsimile of a EB with 4 square post-its and a pair of scissors.

LOL - certainly some inspiration there!

My last post did exactly what is was designed to do....continue to extract information from people way smarter than I am on a particular topic. I am excited to have a new set of eyes on my rig tomorrow to better understand my path forward with it’s restoration. Keep firing info boys this is fun. Glory be to God!

LOL... that feeling when a plan comes together..

I do have a question for the group...does an original gas tank add to value vs a new reproduction. They want 150 to restore the tank another 50 for the sending unit restoration. It’s not all about money it’s also time. I want to drive it before it’s 110 in the shade in Phoenix.

Pretty sure the 66 gas tank is a one year only item and they do not make a reproduction of it, so saving it is probably the best idea. But there are more 66 experts on here that would know better than I......

That is the better advice, do whatever you wish but especially on a 66, don't throw anything away or get rid of it if you are not sure.

Since there was a bit of discussion about the Phoenix DSO (75) above:
It looks like Kemp Motor Company in El Paso, TX can be included in the list of possibilities. Since Tzorn’s truck is reportedly from West Texas, just wanted to throw it out there as another possible dealer that would have sold the truck originally.

Thanks for that tidbit of info! That helps with a piece of the puzzle I was noodling over last evening after seeing Tzorn's roadster yesterday and hearing the ownership story - how did a Bronco destined for AZ end up being sold to its original owner in west Texas. Makes sense now.

Tzorn has himself a neat little truck here. The floorboards were rusted through, like so many are, and covered with some weird covering, like so many are, and the passengers's side door post is in bad shape but otherwise the body looks pretty solid. I took some pics of the door jams and sent them to eaglenest66, who believes they indicate the truck originally had inserts in it. Whoever painted the truck was pretty thorough but we did find evidence of the original Arcadian Blue in several locations. I think it's been mentioned that the engine has a non-original valve cover on it and the radiator appears to be out of a Chrysler product since it has the Chrysler pentastar embossed in the top tank. With some work this will be a fun little cruiser.

Thanks for the hospitality, Tzorn!

Were you able to find some insert screw holes in the door jambs?

Lotsa holes with screws in them. Tim thinks they were for inserts. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Thanks Toddz69! What a wealth of information and for those of you that have not got a copy of his bronco book, I highly recommend it.
