70' wagon with a 302 built in 12/69'. All the rest of the info is on the tag that's missing. Order a new one from Marti Auto and a Marti Report if you like.

And before you put any money into this, have someone do a VIN search and make sure that it’s not titled somewhere else.
Some places are a little lax and will use the glove box to title the new vehicle. If that’s the case, then you’ll have a big hassle on your hands.
But the fight should end up in your ballpark because the frame is the VIN. Not the warranty plate on the glove box.
Are you missing the whole door? Or did someone take the plate off?

Where is the best place to do a VIN search? Tried one online site and it said there was no records. Thanks in advance!

Good question. I never really remember what they’re called, but we have spoken about them many times over the years.
They are specialty companies and individuals, who are in someway legally connected to the DMVs around the country, so can do all the legwork necessary without having to involve yourself with the DMV directly.
Cost money, but in the past, the costs have been very reasonable for the results.

There are a couple of well-documented horror stories here on the forums. One of the members went through a years long struggle to get his vehicle back after trying to register it. And after putting in bucket loads of money into a restoration.
It was legally his in the end. But the road to get there was long and arduous.
