1973 Bronco with 495 Original Miles

I was wondering about that filter too. Seeing as how the original owner was very much into proper break-in, maybe he was one of those "after the first 100 miles" or "after the first 500 miles" kind of guys and it's actually on it's second batch of oil and filter!
I believe anything is possible with this beaut. He may have been waiting for the first 1,000 miles to pass before changing the oil, and that's really the factory installed filter.

What about a dome light mounted on the underside of the wiper cover? Does it have one?
It was '74 and on a '73 Bronco the first time I ever saw one. This being a Ranger too I would think it would have come with one if they were available when this one was built.

Does it have one of the under dash lights also that comes on with the dome light?

Would think it should have a done light. Have a 9/26/72 build with a Ranger interior (sold as a ‘72 P88 series VIN) has one.

Thanks. The very first '73 I ever drove (in roughly '75) had the dome lamp and it was the first time I'd seen one. But I had no way of knowing when it was built, or if that even mattered.
It wasn't a Ranger, so maybe they came on all Broncos after that, or was at least an available option on any.

Gosh this is enjoyable. Since I only do stock, this is the funest ever.

There, but for fortune... Right?;)
Could have easily been the same story with this Bronco under even slightly different circumstances.

Good to know even the newer examples had the infamous scratches below the ashtray ;D

Always enjoy pics of 495 mile history.

There should be a date code on the side of the filter. I found this one on eBay. The last 6 digits are the date...

And thinking more about it Andy, when you get to running the engine again, even with new oil and very low miles on the filter, you should probably run a new filter and just keep the old one on the shelf.
Even with few miles, the media (mostly treated paper?) probably got a bit tired (as Forrest Gump would say) over the last 47 years.

And thinking about it even more, I think the factory filter would have some block paint on it...? Based on every new Ford I have owned...

Very cool, earlier I brought one that was around 3200 supposedly original miles, hit barbed wire fence and then parked for decades in a barn. I would look over things like the pedals, bushings, hinge wear. The black seat hard plastic stops where like brand new with mold seamlines, normally crushed with even minor use. (See picture for what I mean).

Look forward to more pictures, what a great color combination. Looks like the "no" horse in center tire cover. How is under the hood and underside?

Took some pics of the rubber stops in the seats. Also a nice shot of the back seat.
