Hey I am building a 1973 half cab with powersteering and auto.I have always liked the half cab look and cant understand why ford stoped short of auto and powersteering all new for 1973 and 72 last year for half cab.I bought this truck wrecked and and had a friend "ford fan" help me put new rocker ,door skin and fender on right side. I then decided to have it painted and fixed up to hunt out of so I took body off frame and took it to "ford fan".I then started on the chassis make a long story short it has taken a differant road no longer a hunting truck I never should have taken it off the frame.Oh well here we go I will try to post as many pic as I can and then "ford fan" will have to take over.

More pics of the flares

Sent From My Samsung Fascinate Using The Chuck Norris

I don't think the flares still exist; Ford Man can verify. They were made by the same man that made the huge flares on the late 60s early 70s trans am race cars! No, they were made by forming the sheet metal, maybe adding sheet metal and lots of Bondo.
This Bronco is one of the most solid that I have seen. Inside the rockers, the metal is still shiney! Ford Man was first building a cut steed, but it has progressed to a LUBER, so we are putting the fenders back.

1973 bronco build

I may have one more pic of flares . I bought two new front fenders and cut the rear out;see it was going to be a hunting truck. I now have decided to put the rear fenders back in for uncut look. What the PO did was cut the fenders like lines going up ever 4" up about 2" and rolled them out then about a gallon of bondo it did look ok but I wished they would have left it alone .

Here are photos of a pile of pieces that we are going to try to turn into "The Bronco Ford Should Have Made". It's probably hard to even recognize any Bronco parts! It's just in the beginning stages....Getting everything ready for a trip to the Soda Blaster!

Hey ford man I visited fordfan this weekend and helped with a mod that you asked for. How do you like the progress?
We thought the color would be exactly what you wanted.

Wondering about that skid plate for the tank? It is aftermarket or what...Never saw on like it..and the tank---Is it a factory '77 tank or not?

the 73 ford should have made

The tank is factory the skid plate must be after market it is to square I did not know this till after it was mounted and looked at a 77 out back the factory ones are more rounded.Only a good bronco man will ever pick up on that pat your self on the back ford fan.All so there are no bolt holes in frame for the skid plate under transfercase I guess not all broncos came with it It must have been an option? I had a couple in my parts so I got it out and painted it now I know why there was not one to start with .If any one knows or has run into this before they can chime in .
