Look to be a delphi box....Borgeson remakes them which is to say they fit the stock pitman are and factor holes for the Bronco

I run one....no issues

It is a Delphi box. None of them are an exact match. It is a very universal box, used in a lot of OEMs. There is a Jeep version (late 90's grand cherokee?) that is an inside the frame mount, but has the correct sector shaft. Mix that sector shaft with the Nissan box and you can use the stock Bronco pitman arm. Use the Nissan input shaft and a Mercury Villager steering shaft will fit perfect. That can be mated to a Nissan titan rag joint (half of one anyway) and that will mate to a factor Bronco power steering column.

And it is an '01½-'04.
Xterra and V6 Frontier (must be torsion bar suspension, not coil spring). The coil spring frames used a slightly different steering box.
Never on a Pathfinder (some claim to be, but it isn't true). Pathfinder went to rack and pinion in '96, long before Delphi supplied steering boxes.

That's the one I'm running. Not sure it's Xterra specific.....Think there were variations of the "Delphi" box.

Bought mine off eBay years ago from a Borgeson reseller. Not sure what WH is selling but you know they sell quality.......

Tim
agreed! most of my 67 build was from WH - and top notch service to boot...
thank you for all the info Tim
cheers

2004 to present. It is under the dash, not under the hood.

I hope I remembered all that correctly, that was about 15 years ago.

the one on WH website seems to be itentical to the pic i posted and to the item descrition pics on Rock Auto. Do we know which one WH is selling?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,2001,xterra,3.3l+v6,1374588,steering,steering+gear,7416

https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produ...ring_System_Deluxe/bronco_Power_Steering_Kits

On Rock Auto’s website, next to the part, click on “info” and the manufacturer is listed. This goes for everything that Rock Auto sells.

Well, knowing the manufactures of the remanufactured boxes is a starting point for your research and BBB Industries manufactures new boxes.

does the xterra box have to be from a V6 like the frontier?

If you can find one of the I4 unicorn Xterras, that works as well.

There were 2 basic frame designs. The I4 2WD frame with a light weight front suspension. The other was the V6/4WD frame, all the of the Xterras were built on the heavy duty frame. There were some 2WD I4 trucks built on the heavy frame as well. But those are pretty rare. If it looks like it could/should be 4WD, it is the heavy frame. If it is clearly a 2Wd with the little tires, it isn't. The torsion bar/coil spring is the fast way to tell which is which, you want the torsion version.

bringing this back as i have a few more questions

watching a few youtube videos on the 01.5-04 xterra sector shaft swap for the 99-04 jeep cherokee sector shaft. Seems like the cherokee shaft is slightly longer at the bottom portions where the pitman arm mates to than the xterra shaft. If it is longer will it still work with my drop pitman, track bar drop bracket and and 3.5" lift that i currently have on my 67?

thanks
