Public Service Announcement:

The campground allows alcohol, but any alcohol in public areas (outside of your campsite) must be purchased through the campground.

I.e. they will likely be setting up a cash bar at the pavilion during our evening activities and no personal coolers or alcohol permitted.

The reason is that they have an onsite restaurant with bar and a relatively expensive and hard to obtain (in PA) liquor license for that, so they only allow alcohol purchased outside at individuals campsites.

This was one of the two main downsides of the new campground, but one I think we can work with and will be a small price for the great ammenities they offer over previous locations.

The other was we will not be able to have our famous dump truck load of firewood bonfire with the late night gasoline fueled fire balls lofting 100'+ in the air. :(

I hope they have an ATM!!!

Registation??

I may have extra dinner tickets, looks like my family is gonna have to head back home early and I'll have to pull an all nighter sat night.

Joined MEB awhile back. DO I have to register for the event also? Plan on just showing up by myself on Friday or Saturday. If you have an extra dinner ticket I would appreciate it. Thanks

Well... If Jeff is going I guess I better get busy!
It's going to be a show up and hope the rig holds together weekend for me. I have no time to give it a once over before going. Ball practice everynight till then and a tournament this weekend.

So.. is there a gas station between the camp ground and the trails or do i need to bring my own cans?

Yes, there is a gas station at the Rt81 exit for Rausch Creek. Or if you take the way through town (not the highway rt81) there is gas well.

Edit, from Rausch's website, more detailed response "The nearest gas station is at Exit 104 (Exxon station, Ravine exit). There is a full service restaurant there and a quick-mart"

I finally booked my camp site, but I could only get a site for Thursday night. Guess I'll need to make some buddies and squat on their site Fri and Sat nights. :) That's what I get for waiting till the last minute.

Marc,

If it comes down to it, free primitive camping at Rausch Creek for Fri and Sat nights.

@Tasker - you ready to hit the trails? Rumor has it you're running with the big boys this year!

No blindfold contest this year. Feeling out the new location and what we can do. They may not appreciate tire tracks in the field yet.
