First trip to Rausch Creek Park- outstanding- Yes, the green/blue trails that lead throughout the park to the red(hardest) sections are rocky and rough- remember how rough trail 4 was that lead through Tellico to the "most difficult sections". Hills and rock sections were great-you had to drive, not just point and shoot. We did find out a 5.0 will climb a red hill with the mass air unplugged given the right amount of right foot and left brake.........
Staff at RC was helpful-I had to borrow a grinder and welder. Now more thankful for gas and 220!!! Even on sat. with all the heeps running around in trail rated streetish crap, we only had one "wait" to get down a green/blue to run a red- Crawl Daddy- what a cool name and trail!! So, plenty of trails-
Campground was VERY nice. Plenty of activities for the kids, pool, dog agility course, some cabins pet friendly. After learning the route, it was only about 20-30 min drive. The old timers will remember the 40+ min drive to Tellico and the terrible road, 20-30 from camp to Paragon and the 30 min drive from town to Gore more recently..........Paved road from camp to Park and interstate for a quicky if you wanted to take it part of the way
We rented a cabin with the top three- AC, full size shower and queen bed
It was refreshing to hear the staff actually say "thank you" for staying with us. Tent sites seemed nice-I am too old to sleep on the ground even with an air mattress and no AC-yes, getting soft-
MEB- yes, I am biased- great as always- I did the 35 and under rock crawling comp. after Lou set it up. TASKER the innovator saw a better plan utilizing a backup. Really appreciate the sportsmanship with the competitors in the class. Good times
I also did the show-n-shine that evening and what a turn out- just really nice rigs in all three classes. I appreciate the participants lining up as I requested "down hill" and driving out fwd. as to not spin on the grass(per campground instructions).
Great food as always, great raffle even though I did not win anything
I put several tickets in the TOMS Bronco Parts custom seats drawing- thanks to ALL the vendors who supported us. I personally hauled a set of chromo shafts and spicer joints from
www.eastcoastgearsupply.com to the event. Several participants could have used them! One of these days, I will tow a street eb along with the crawler and go on the street cruise-I understand they had a great time and nice photos.
A super event and I highly encourage folks who have not been to join us next year-there is something for every bronco of every description!
Thanks,
Karl
