23 gallon Tank differences

What are the differences between the 23 gallon tanks that are offered? I see them for no lift, 2 inch lift and 1-3 inch lift, (strap or something else)? Do you need to replace the standard filler hose, is there a difference between Tom's and Jeff's besides the price and does it need a different sending unit then the stock one? Thanks.

I just received the 23 gallon Sherman tank from Wild Horses. I like the look of the tank. Was a chunk of change for sure. It does not use a strap, but some kind of rails to mount. You remove the stock fuel tank brackets. I am going to installed the tank tonight.

You would be using the same fill hose. The position of the filler hole is the same location as stock looks to me. The design of the mounting system allows you to raise the tank on the mount rails if you have a body lift, which I did purchase their 1" body lift, so will be sliding the tank up an inch higher than it would be with stock body lift. Going to be very easy to install since I have the body off the frame. The install requires you fish some bolts inside the frame. They show using a wire, but I think I will be able to use my telescoping magnets (you use to pick up metal stuff you drop into bad places) to put the bolts in the holes I will be drilling in the bottom of the frame. Will see how all that goes tonight.

Note regarding the Sherman tank shipment....it sure was not packaged very well. Sitting in a box with no padding. The paint is rather scuffed up on the tank and that pisses me off. If I pay big bucks for something I want to be the one that scratches it.

There are some important differences with the mounting and dimensions of the different tanks. It would be a good idea to research the previous posts.
Some have strap mounts similar to factory. They work fine unless you plan to slide over boulders.
Some have sliding/adjustable rails. Easy to adjust for different body lifts but they are taller to compensate for the space taken up by the rails. You'll loose some ground clearance with them.
Some like the Aero tanks have mounting tabs welded on that bolt directly to the frame.

I installed one a couple months ago on a frame off resto. Realized quick that the body is part of the mounting. I have it hanging but it is not stable because the body is still off. I'm doing a complete EFI/AOD swap and am trying to tackle the venting of the tank now. I called and asked why the tank has three vents on it and got a response of "I'm not sure". I know one vent is for the filler hose and one should be for the charcoal canister but why the other one? I guess incase you add something on?

Different tanks have different numbers of "vent" tubes too.
The larger ones are of course for the fill-vent.
The smaller ones can be for return lines, evap lines, or transfer lines from another tank.

The stock evap system utilized two small lines to the rear main tank. Both were capable of allowing vapors into the condensing tank behind the driver's seat ('70 through '75 only) and the second allowed condensed liquid gas to flow back into the rear main tank.

Sizes were different, and locations vary per manufacturer, but after that a lot is up to the installer.

Size-wise, the adjustables are the deepest, with the Aero coming in next, with the Northwest (old name) being the most shallow of the 20-23 gallon tanks.
With stock being the most tucked up of course, but with less than half the capacity in most cases, it's worth the trade-off in clearance for the extra miles.

As per 2moneyboys, you can use any of the bracket models regardless of the lift but they have indented edges to fit the different spaces under the tub. Worse comes to worse, you just add a shim or have it hang lower if the Bronco is lifted and the tank isn't indented to the lift specs. All will work for an unlifted Bronco. Delcon Nick got it covered! Getting one next week. Thanks for all the info!!!
