Yeah, the smoke you mentioned earlier means oil consumption.

With the engine sitting and not being driven by the 2 previous owners, I would drive the heck out of it and see if the compression comes up and the oil consumption goes down.

Thinking maybe the rings need to be re-seat.

Are the 2 cylinders with low compression next to each other? It would be worth doing a leakdown test and see where you are loosing compression. Leave the radiator cap off and see if water is being blown out the radiator, air being blown out the valve cover or out the exhaust. That will tell you where the engine is being compromised. If it were my engine 500 miles before i change the oil add atf to the oil and run it for the last 500 miles it may help free up any stuck rings.

Ok, you are gonna have to explain this. My pcv valve rattles like crazy?

Then on the passenger side i have a vent on the valve cover that goes into the air cleaner.

ATF fluid in the oil, never heard of that. Back in the day, my dad would add 1qt of atf fluid to 20 gallons of gas.....once or twice a year he would do that

2 cylinders low next to each other could be a head gasket problem. For a leak down test you put a cylinder on its top compression stroke. You take a compressor and hook up a hose into the spark plug hole. The air pressure will leak out the path of least resistance. If you hear the air leaking out the intake manifold you have a problem with an intake valve not sealing properly. If you hear it comming out the exhaust you have an exhaust valve problem. If you hear it leaking out the valve cover you have a ring problem. If air is displacing water in your radiator you probably have a head gasket leak. When 2 cylinders next to each other have issues it could be a blown head gasket between the 2 and as each cylinder pressures up the bleed over transfers to the cylinder next to it. If you have the spark plug out on the other low cylinder during the test you will hear air leaking out the open spark plug hole. A compression test tells you there is a problem. A leakdown test tells you where the problem is before you take it all apart.

Atf is a high deturgent hydraulic fluid with some lubricating properties. It will get into the rings and lifters and as these parts cycle it breaks out the gummy varnish sticking thes parts together. It is much less aggressive than risolean or sea foam so less likly to knock big chunks of hardened carbon loose to plug up your oiling system.
