I'm thinking about 34s for a daily driver. Anyone have any experience with running such large tires?

As far as broncos go, that's not particularly large. I run 33s on my DD and am happy with it. At the Fab Fords show my bronco with 33s and a 3-1/2" suspension lift looked downright puny compared to some of the broncos out there.

I run 35"s on my 99 powerstroke, 37"s on my 67 Half cab, and have ran 33"s on several rigs, never had any problems other than they cost a little more to replace.

I've been running 35's for a couple of years now and they are great. Just make sure to to do the gear changes or you won't like the power.

I ran a '69 a a daily-driver for about 5 years with 35" Dunlop AT radials and it was just fine. Its not the size that matters for road quality, IMHO, it's that you run radials and not too agressive on the tread pattern/style. That said..my rig on radial IROK 39.5s (also a '69) does just fine on the highway too..though I don't make a habit of that dues to tire wear concerns.

Not to sound young and dumb here, but what brand or tire are you looking at getting. I've never seen or heard of a 34. I've always seen most companies jump from 33 to 35. Didn't want to be a pain, but I didn't want you to get your hopes up about 34's then find there aren't any out there.

34s are about as common as 32s. Typically, they jump from 31s to 33s to 35s. But, there are some 32s and 34s available. Since they are less common sizes, they'll be more expensive in the long run.

I've ran several rigs with 35" BFG ATs and BFG MTs as my DD rigs. Never re-geared and never had a problem cruising at highway speeds. In my 99 TJ on 35" BFG MTs, I couldn't use 5th gear to accelerate but, dump it to 4th and pass what I wanted and jump back to 5th to maintain speed. In any of my other rigs, the big throaty V8 kept the 35s running just fine.

Point of my post... don't always believe the hype that you "HAVE TO" regear. My previous DD that is now listed FOR SALE has 4.56 gears and I was running 35s and had a hard time keeping it up at highway speeds with a big throaty V8. It's listed FOR SALE because I don't like having to run higher RPMs to maintain traveling speeds. It's retarded... But, it does damn well off road though. ;)

34's are fine for the street, just pick a tire that's right for your needs. As for as regearing goes it depends on what you like. I have ran 32's with 3:50 gears and at highway speeds they were fine, but they were a bit of a dog on take off. I would suggest going to at least 4:11s.

I got 35s BFG M/T. If your going to do alot more street driving consider a tire tread of likeness of a M/T or All terrain. Larger tread can add to diffrent problems of riding enjoyment.

I'm running Nitto 325/70 All Terra Grapplers on a 16" wheel, which are actually 34" by 13". The Nitto web site lists them as being just a hair under 34", and 12.90 wide. They are a nice all terrain that perform great and wear great. No road noise what so ever. Off the street they do great. I was just out at Ocotillo Wells, and Superstition Mountain, (near Glamis). The wide tire did great in the sand dunes. No complaints. A mud tire it isn't, but all terrain is. I know 34's aren't the most common size, but they weren't priced too high. If I remember correctly, I paid about $188 a tire. Nitto is a name brand, so not too bad for a good sized tire. I hope this helps.
