I've gotten two different answers and just want to be clear. I started with 302, c-4 auto. Went to Ford ordered a 351w long block, told them a 96' so it's a roller motor.
1. Can I use the same flex plate I had with my 69 302.. Thanks in advance for advice.

Yes, all 351s were 28oz imbalance, and 302s until the early 80s sometime were also 28oz imbalance. Your current flex plate and balancer will work fine on the 351.

If you are going to that much work you should also research using the 5.0 Explorer front accessory drive. There are a couple ways to take care of the fact the damper will be the wrong balance, but it gets you a nice accessory drive that has plenty of room.

just have the balancer rebalanced. I've got a number and address you can get it done at.

Somebodys gonna chime in but i dont think the 4 bolt works with the explorer setup. I believe that uses a one off balancer specifically for the explorer 5.0. Serpentine. Someone will chime in.

4-bolt won't work on the Explorer.
Explorer has the pulley cast into the damper, the only non-bolt on small block crank pulley.
Driven Auto Parts has a conversion pulley that only works on the 3-bolt damper.

If you are going with the Explorer setup (highly suggest - I'm rocking the Explorer front, PSC pump, Explorder radiator and Taurus fan) pull the balancer from the Explorer and send it to these guys - The Damper Dudes They can rebuild it and balance it to 28oz for ya :)
