I used a 4wd one. Still in the process of getting it on the road.

I think I can get more benefits from a Zf over my C4 than a atlas fro the money. Atlas can come later. I went with the C4 because of wifes knee but she's about to push a clutch or ride!

as a rough guess-timate , each cfm a head will flow can get you 2hp PROVIDED all of the other parts are correct for the set up also.

On a 408 , 400hp would still be a pretty mild motor.
Personally , I'd throw the bank at it and get the Trick Flow 185's that are flowing 301 cfm straight outta the box. $1800 ....
A small port that flows like that would probably be like magic on a mild 408. You have to jump up to 205 or better heads to get comparable flow , but the bigger runners will move the rpm range of the head upwards.
I'm not to the point where I MUST order my heads yet , but I'm considering getting those for my 347 build , because the 170's are not available until June.

That was exactly the goal..;)

I've since regretted it though. Phenomenal breakage over the last 8 years since I started wheeling it. Not any problem with the engine though..%)

That was exactly where I wanted to go with my build , but all of the breakage stories from the 408 crowd guided me away from that , among other things.

Machinist has the Exploder block and 347 kit ordered , FlowTech hasn't returned with the custom cam info yet , heads I'd prefer are not available until June

For fun could you print out a list of parts that you feel your 408 contributed to an early death?

Be interesting to see where the weak points were for you... (let's see... D20 output shafts (then low D20 low gearset-then case cracking), 28 spline rear axles, crappy drivelines (and ujoints), crappy D44 ujoints/axles, then what...??? :p

TIA
