Paul, Broncobowsher and everyone's welcome to check/comment on the throttle geometry...50% throttle and at 90 deg...dang close..
Hope it's "dang close" enough! :)

Yes, Im going to run that cam. These engines have been dyno'd outside of the Ford dyno and are registering 600HP and torque below 5800 rpm. I dont have my dyno results for this engine yet...not sure why...other priorities then Ill ask.

That's more "aggressive" that I expected for a complete engine from Ford. Was expecting a little less duration and 112 lobe sep. That cam is same as mine just .050 less lift. My 438 peak torque is 4400, I suspect yours maybe slightly lower. Probably run very nice at all RPM 👍

Corrected numbers...

550 ft lbs of torque at 3500 rpm, these are Ford dyno numbers.... stump puller. :) FORD advertises conservatively 575ftlbs of torque at 4600 rpm and 575HP at 5600...

What rocker ratio are you running? Stock 1.6 ratio?

Yes, I'm going to enjoy using the wider pattern... would like to find some shorty headers with 1 7/8 primaries...always a dreamer...I'm sure I'll end up making some...

In but plumbing the rails and making braided lines... and cutting my exhaust (AGAIN) at the collector so I can weld in some pcs. The raised port heads caused this mod. :)

That's sound what I would expect. Mine made 570ftlb at 4500 I think and 565hp at 5600.
I went with Jessel shaft mount set up after being advised by the builder. He said with a solid roller, the Jessel stuff can go longer without routine adjustments. So if I'm just taking it out and not racing it, I can go a couple more trips between adjustments. Being my drive side header goes over the valve cover and to remove it, the dash and firewall needs removed, it made sense haha

Yeah...sorry my numbers were off...I just misquoted from the sheet. Corrected it as soon as I noticed it today.

Last solid roller I ran was in my HP 289...no torque but I could sure twist 28 spline axles off at 6500rpm shifts!! I had some spares for a while... lol

I just put too many miles on for a solid roller. Jessel is top notch stuff-I'm not telling you anything you don't know about those! :)

Took over a full day to match my existing exhaust to the raised ports... dang...literally kicked my backside trying to match it up without an exhaust bender...did make a couple trips to town for different bends...

Start up tomorrow night with Garry dialing in the 77deg valve overlap...I'm not starting it till he is on line... :) I'm cluless with dialing the Moates in. I watch Garry change the screen! lol

Update...first test drive I took my wife in to town for ice cream and cruised around... I need to set my OD lock out at a higher rpm so it won't buck at 40mph with slightly throttle engagement :)

Sounds wicked cruising around our tiny town...

Gotta get a few miles on it before we hit the sand dunes this weekend so we can dial the tune in at WOT and other tunes...

Man I don't know how you guys drive these short wheel base trucks with that kind of power. I built a 434 SBC stroker back in 2000 and it dyno'd at 620hp/600tq and put it in a 69 Camaro and that thing is a beast. I couldn't imagine that power in one of these Broncos. Not saying it wouldn't be fun but I think the pucker factor has to be right up there. Have fun with it and be careful. Ken

I’ll answer:p
Big tires suck up sooooo much it calms them down a lot. They can still be a handful but normally quite manageable, especially with a good tune that is smooth. Modern fuel injection helps make these monsters much more user friendly by being smooth and linear, keeps it smooth and sedate until the angry button gets stomped;D
